I think you'd need to check on this rather than just assume it - my reading of the situation is that you'd only be covered in relation to the money paid on your card - £104 deposit. You wouldn't be able to make any sort of claim with regards to the balance that you'd paid off in some other way. I'm not sure that the credit card company would regard themselves as having any liability with regards to the balance and hence the whole package in these circumstances.
It's a package holiday anyway so I guess I have ABTA and ATOL cover, plus I have an annual travel insurance policy. Not sure if I need the xtra CC cover as well. I might be going OTT.
The following link will take you to a site explaining all about credit cards.

Interestingly, you can claim for the full amount even if the deposit was paid bt credit card and the balance by some alternate method.
However, it's essential that the amount paid by credit card is more than £100, less than £30,000 is paid using a card issued by a British Bank and that a claim for misrepresentation or breach of contract exists.
Clearly, failing to provide the flight is breach of contract.
So stop worrying.
You have saved me from an awful lot of searching through papers, and forking out an extra 50quid. Holiday truths to the rescue.
I thought I read somewhere in the travel press that as long as the balance was over 100quid you were OK.
How lucky was I to manage to pay a deposit of 104pounds.
Sorry I didn't mean balance I meant initial payment. My edit facility has disappeared again.
