I'm refraining from naming the company as up until now it's been brilliant. Anyway I booked two ground floor apartments (we've rented the same one twice before). I had the confirmation through and paid the deposits. Then booked flights. However two days ago I received an email from this travel company to say that
"we will no longer be renting XXXX next year so unfortunately we have to cancel the booking you have made with us"
I have sent an email asking how could they advertise, take a booking and deposit when they didn't have the contract for this property? I'm awaiting the reply. In their T&C's they state:
"(g) Due to circumstances out of XXXXXXX control or due to unforeseen situations at the time of confirming your booking, and only where it is absolutely necessary, it may be essential to make a change to the accommodation arrangements. XXXXXXXX will do its best to provide comparable arrangements but if they are not able to do so, a full and immediate refund will be made, and the Company shall be under no further liability"
We can rent this apartment through the "new" agent but it's going to cost another 147 Euros for the week!!
Surely we had a contract which only came about by advetising a property they didn't have the authority to rent? I've asked for a contribution and am awaiting their reply…..and advice anyone? Thanks
