.... that awful programme about the two women on holiday in Kusadasi?
I was shocked at their behaviour, especially with their children around
People like this give Turkish resorts sucha bad name. I'm sure it would put anyone off going to Kusadasi. I've not been there myself but I'm sure it can't be as bad as it was portrayed in that programme.
i saw the last half hour and that was more than enough i was appalled by their behaviour and the young lads language . ive been to kusadasi and wasnt impressed got so much hassle it was horrendous mind you that was 10 yrs ago
well what can you say this does not just happen in turkey you get these types in all tourist area's around the world its pretty shameful
saw it, felt sorry for that young lad........ however, I think both both parties were as bad as each other............
Regular visitors to Turkey know that this sort of thing does happens in bar streets in many Turkish resorts. Anyone who hasnt been to Turkey though would be put off ever visiting after watching this programme. It made it look as though all Turkish guys were after one thing. Believe me there are many resorts and loads of hotels that are well suited to families where this type of behaviour would not be encouraged. I have heard many instances where turkish guys have been refused entry to hotels and were not welcomed where their english "girlfriends" were staying.
Sorry to say this progrmme painted a very bad picture of Turkey.
I am staying at my daughters but can watch it on i player if it was on BBC.
10.00pm until 11.05pm, C4 on Tuesday. It was called Man hunters: our Turkish toyboys
Didn't see it myself but someone in work said it put them off Turkey for life. Very sad in my opinion as really a documentary about all the good things in Turkey wouldn't get as much coverage yet this issue get's all the press. My first visit to Turkey in 1997 was to Kusadasi with two very young daughters and we had a marvelous time.
I have been lots of times and I havent seen many older women with young Turks but my 1st visit to Turkey was to Kusadasi back in 1989.We were in an awful hotel on the outskirts but it didnt put me off going to Icmeler 10months later.
One day on the beach near the hotel there was an English lady on her own,who lay with just a bikini bottom on.She was at least 20 stone(beached whale comes to mind) and was surrounded by about 8 local blokes
Maybe she was the one that started the trend!
I think most hotels have a ruling about not bringing people back to stay so I don't know how she was allowed to let that man stay in her room.
The men in the programme were just as bad, they were openly admitting that they were using the women and didn't care anything about them. The fact that these women had children made it even worse, no self respecting Turkish man would allow a woman to treat a child like that.
I just can't understand how woman of that age could flaunt themselves like that and allow themselves to be used.
after reading these comments, i decided to watch this awful programme!! it i actually uncomfortable to watch, to think that these women are giving us british women a reputation like that! dont get me wrong im not saying i dont like to have fun on holiday, but they give 'fun' a whole different meaning. I hate to think that we get thought of like that, just goes to show its the woman AND the men who are both as bad as eachother! It hasnt put me off going to turkey as i've been going there all my life, it just encourages me to keep my sensible head on at the same time lol!
I watched this with my daughter. We have been to Icmeler five times, but if you had never been to Turkey this programme would put you off! I certainly wouldn't want to go to Kusadasi. Having said that, the two women were entitled to do what they wanted on holiday IF they had been on their own, but they were'nt. I felt really sorry for the young lad and the 17 year old girl. If they had been on their own, then they could do what they wanted - they were all adults. However, I thought it was disgusting how they did this all in front of their kids!!
I was worried my friends would think WHY on earth does she go there !!!!
We stayed in Kusadasi many years ago, up a hill away from all the hustle and bussle in a loverly hotel, Villa Konak, you felt a million miles away, very tranquil, visited Ladies beach which we enjoyed.
Stayed well away from bar st !!! absolute mad house, we enjoyed the old town.
I could have cried watching the going on because of the young boy, what is he going to turn out like !!!
Yes he did use foul language, but he has no good role model, he will either turn out just like his Mother with no respect for women or himself or go the other way and turn out a caring boy friend/husband.
Either way he will need a lot of help, i wonder were his Nan is, because if that was my daughter !!!!!!!!!!
I am really suprised the social services didnt step in when they returned home as it was imoral what the subjected the boy to
And what a boring holiday for the lad, he didn't seem to be considered at all...
As for the programme, it certainly didn't do Kusadasi tourism any favours. The two women(they certainly weren't ladies !!), there is nothing I can say that hasn't already been said. Having said this, because we're not,"Bar people", we never went anywhere near Bar Street. Therefore, we had an enjoyable holiday, a word of warning, don't stay in Kusadasi itself during Ramadan as drummers come around the streets at least twice a night !!
Les
Les, when I lived in Turkey the drummers went past my house every morning at 5am without fail
after all who would want to watch a programme that wasn't a bit provocative.
I doubt that either of the two "ladies" would have been pleased at seeing themselves on tv later.
Sorry for the extra piece of baggage that they took though, the young lad.
extra baggage was all he appeared to be.
Oh I think it was a pretty truthful account of what some people get up to, after all they made it perfectly clear why they were going and what they wanted to do, didn't they?
Nobody but those involved know what kind of persuasion or payment , if any, was made.
I tend to take these kind of "documentaries" with a large pinch of salt.
