The programme didnt do Kusadasi any favours as the hotel where these people stayed seemed very basic and in a side street.
It could have showed the beach area,Bird Island and Ephesus.

but surely we all are adults and can understand that the programme was intended to show exactly this.
It was not an advert for turkey, but was an excuse to get bad language and behaiviour on the screen, because that is what the public wants.
It was about as honest and factual as a tv advert.
All they users on this site that go to turkey know that the turkish men will take any opportunity for sex with a willing partner, but that goes for everywhere.
Women, as these were portrayed are just as common in any resort area.
The programme could have been filmed in ANY country and achieved the same results.
possibly the only difference between Romeos in turkey and Spain is that the latter are not looking for a passport/ visa

del949 totaly agree, the programme should be treated with the contempt it deserves.

unfortunately this is the age we are living in. if it had shown a good side of turkey, veiwing figures would have been down 90%.

Yes, the programme did intend to show just the bad side of things, it wasn't a holiday programme but in my opinion it did show exactly what some people are like on holiday. I have seen women like this many times before, what shocked me though as the fact they took their children with them.

Del your statement did upset me a little though

"All they users on this site that go to turkey know that the turkish men will take any opportunity for sex with a willing partner"

I am married a Turkish man and he has never been like this, he has far more self respect than that. Yes there are a fair amount of Turkish men like that just as there are plenty of women like those two in the film but there are also many very nice, decent Turkish men, who are not just looking for sex with anyone, nor are they all looking for a visa!

Unfortunately very often it is only the bad things that people see, hence the reason English women have such a bad reputation and so do Turkish men. I am sure most users on this site are aware there are lots of very nice, decent, self respecting Turksih men as well as the male slappers we saw on the programme.

My husband thinks that men like that are as bad as the foreign tourists who go on holiday looking for sex. He has no respect for any of them. So please, before you make statements like this, consider how many Turkish people you actually properly know. Generalisations very often upset someone.

Not really sure what the point of this post was unless it was to show British women in a bad light. Having seen Turkish men lear over under age girls (in British law, no idea if they have underage laws in Turkey from the way the men carry on) last year I would say they were equally as bad as the women if not more so. also as Del says most users of this forum know that Turkish men will have sex with any willing partner, this type of behaviour is really common in mass market holiday resorts the world over, although the point is valid that in Spain, Greece, Italy etc it tends to be just for fun rather than a British Visa, which somehow makes it seem worse in Turkey.

I have just said that this kind of comment is quite upsetting as I am married to a lovely Turkish man. he has never "had sex with any willing partner" and he was never after a British visa. I find it really sad that some people can make such sweeping generalisations knowing it is upsetting. Unwittingly upsetting someone is one thing, repeating the same words is just insulting.

The programme made both the men and women look bad but that doesn't mean everyone is like that. Why do you haveto be so judgemental?

Sweeping generalisations are always a bad thing, as far as I'm concerned. There is good and bad in all nationalities and it would be a better thing all round if people would just take people as they are and not go anywhere full of preconceived ideas or prejudices.
Yes, I know there are Turkish men like those portrayed in that programme, but equally, I've met some of the nicest, friendliest and most welcoming people ever during my holidays in Turkey. I've met people who would go out of their way to make you feel welcome and to make your holiday special.
Let's face it, Brits abroad don't always have the best of reputations, but I'm sure most of us don't conform to those stereotypes either. I prefer to take people as I find them - we're all human beings, after all!

Kedi. I apologise.
I can see how my phrasing can cause offence, it wasn't quite what I meant to say.
Let me try again.
Lots of young men , wether of Turkish origin or originating from any where else that is a holiday destination, will have the opportunity to have sex on a regular basis with many different women.
many of them , if not most, will take advantage of this opportunity when the women in question are vitually offering it at the outset.

I certainly was not intending to insult, or question the morals of anyone.

But all of us who go to Turkey on a regular basis know that the younger waiters etc are always on the pull, this is not a generalisation but reporting of what I see with my own eyes.
(and Kedi, I too was a young man once,so please allow me the credit of 20/20 hindsight and memory :D )

Apology accepted Del, I just hear so many people say things against Turkish men I have to say that not all the men are like that, although I do agree that a lot of those who work in resorts are. I think there is also a huge difference between having a holiday fling and acting like a slapper - in the case of both the men and the women :yikes

del i know what you are saying and totally agree i worked at butlins many years ago and it was great as a young man
anyway :rofl who would'nt if handed on a plate :sun2

I do agree with you, if handed it on a plate most men would go for it but with just anyone? Going back to the programme it showed young men going off with grandmothers :yikes now, I'm sure most men would be a bit more selective than that. Those men were obviously after something with those horrible women; money, gifts, a free room for a night etc (and they got it didn't they?). Not everyone is like that surely - come on guys men can't be that bad that the world over, I'm sure some of you would be be more decent :rofl only joking ;)

no i did think there standards was a little low, i don,t think i ever dropped to that level only joking i was never that bad but it was a holiday centre and those sort of things do happen :sun2

Glad to hear it maverick ;)

But that is my point really, yes, we all know boys will be boys given the opportunity, especially in holiday resorts but not all men will be so low that they will sleep with just anyone, that includes Turkish men. And they are also not, as some people seem to think, all after a visa. These are the sort of generalisations that upset me. I know a lot of very nice, very genuine Turkish men who don't fit the stereotype that people have formed in their minds. It's the same in Turkey though, a lot of people have bad ideas about English women, thinking they are all like those two women in the programme and I have had to explanin many times that us English girls aren't all like that either :really , it's just the few foul ones who give the bad reputation. It goes both ways really.
