In the Albadeira area, you're likely to be a good 10 or 15 minute walk from the Marina complex (downhill out, uphill back.)The Marina complex is within 100 to 500 yards of the railway station(dependent on where your apartment is) and the little tourist train stop,and also next door to a selection of bars and restaurants for those times when you don't feel like a walk into town to eat.
The choice,as they say, is yours.

would a taxi be a lot from Albudeira to the marina if we did not want to walk and are they easy to get

It's only a two minute taxi ride to the Marina from Albadeira,but the nearest taxi rank is in the town centre, so the trip would probably cost in the region of €4 at a guess.
Taxis are usually plentiful enough at the main rank,but I've had no experience of booking one over the phone,so can't really comment,I'm afraid.

stil not sure!!
transport seems no problem then but marina apartment seems more lively with views - £150 more though but Albudeira apartment double the size
not knowing the area i am not sure if the view and location is worth the sacrifice!!
can you advise?????
