thanks everyone,
one more question i know when i was in portugal it was legal to drink on the street if your leaving the bars as such is it the same in turkey like walking home from a bar can u bring ur drink with you ??
Legal to drink on the streets yes, but I would imagine (and rightly so) that the bars would be none too pleased with all their glasses going missing ...

Gene... the webcam is situated opposite the attaturk statue, and its just round the corner from the big indoor market, which is by the harbour!
Thanks clare.
Just had my first peek of the year at the webcam carn't wait till June now
First went two years ago. 5 people supposedly going. THREE dropped out two days before, so had to find at least 2 mates who'd go. Luckily we did. However, second day in to the two week holiday, I took ill (too much drink / too little water), spent two full days in bed, and most of the third and fourth. Came home a week early. Lost a stone in a week. Talk about crash dieting...
Went back last year though and had an amazing holiday, and now trying to back this year. Won't be until July though.
I want to go back now!!!
this will be my first time to marmaris after two years in olu i was wondering what to expect in marmaris and what are the best places to eat and drink and the trips
we have been to marmaris six times and returning in may.our favourite restaurant is uno momento on the beach front.there are many more too choose from.adam and eve, mayfair and the amphi are all very good plus are all reasonable priced.we did a private boat trip last year, just the ten of us on board.booked it through bar man at turtle bar.it cost just 12pound each included breakfast ,dinner all drinks 5 swim stops.it was a great day sue
thanks for the tip i will definitely try them
Boat trip is around £7 which includes breakfast and free drinks.
Jeep safari, good fun day out around the same price, be prepared to get wet and have lots of fun.
If booking any trips though, book them through the guys around the beach front and not through the rep, you still get the same trip at a fraction of the price and picked up from your hotel.
Have fun and I am sure you will love Marmaris like the rest of us.

going to mamaris on the 9th of may 1st time to turkey what should we do where is the best places to eat , going all inclusive but if we fancy a change , best pubs how do you spend english £10 in the market what do u get the change in so confused please help
Firstly you will not regret going to Turkey and (in my opinion) Marmaris. You don't say where you are staying though. Going AI is not my thing especially in Marmaris that has so many good restaurants they are too many to mention, however .. if you make your way down towards the Point Centre (Gima Supermarket) and towards the sea, then turn left you will find an abundance of good restaurants and bars. The 'Garden' is one we particularly like. Uno Momento, Natalies Steak House, all excellent places are down there. The Marina area of Marmaris also has many good restaurants (fish ..) in a fantastic setting. Remember the bartering theory in Turkey. You should try and get everything you buy rounded up to £10, £20 etc to your best advantage. Having said that any change (and it won't be much) will be in New Turkish Lira.

We are going to Marmaris 1st June for 2 weeks, this will be our 7th time. Although we have not been for 2 years - does anyone know if anything has changed - like building works, bars closing etc.
