Juby, the information I was given (from someone who has a screenshot of a seat booking) is that it says Row 6 G/J seats states No Rec and Row 7 A/C seats states No Rec.

oh not happy the seats are 3-3-3 was hoping for 2-4-2 this means all couples will have a stranger next to them !!!!
Reply
The majority of airlines have chosen 3-3-3, proof the accountants rule the world! Only Jal and ANA have gone for 2-4-2 in economy.

Row 39 is 2-3-2 as the fuselage narrows are ideal for couples.

is 39 xtra leg room though as we have pre-booked that.
Reply
madasharley,

Row 39 has standard legroom as far as I know (34"), it's not an extra legrom row.

Whomenever,

It happened yesterday at around 1630. There's no suggestion at the moment it's a repeat of previous problems. It's under investigation so lets await the results rather than speculate.

Latest is on the BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23298349

Just concerned mate.

Reports like this hardly won't help those of us who already have a fear of flying. :(

With a 787 setting on fire and another one aborting it's journey, it is not a good day for Boeing.
Darren, people like speculating this is what keeps sites going!
My guess on this is that the whole 787 program has been beset by problems and delays. I don't enjoy this, I feel sorry for Thomson and their passengers who have been inconvenienced.
If I were in charge of TUI, I would be ordering A350s ASAP.

Qman,

I agree, but the media is fuelling a massive storm and putting 2 and 2 together to make 22 at the moment. There is nothing to suggest the Ethiopian problem is battery related at the moment. While it's unclear what has happened, it's being investigated by various authorities, there's no point in putting theories forward based on no information as it does no one any good. The Thomson problem was a minor problem (electric issue I'm told) and also unrelated. New aircraft have teething troubles, especially when they involve new technology, albeit Boeing have had some serious issues with the 787. Airbus and other aircraft manufacturers have had their fair share of issues with new types so it's nothing unique to Boeing. The A350 is likely to have teething issues too, like other Airbus aircraft including the A380. I wouldn't write off the 787 as yet although it would seem there are still issues to be resolved. The Thomson air-return is getting a lot of press as it coincided with the Ethiopian incident and the fact is was a 787. It's called the issue attention cycle, the A380 had the same interest when it entered service and the A350 and Bombardier C series will do too. There was no mention of the various other incidents yesterday that involved other types were there? Lets just wait for the the facts to be released before everyone jumps to conclusions, that's all I'm saying. All of TOM's 788's are flying today.
