Hi

can anyone tell me how long it will take to drive from limassol to paphos??

we are probably staying in limassol but friends are getting married in paphos town hall so trying to decide whether to hire a car for the time we are out there or rely on taxis.

Thanks fatcodycat 8)

Presumably that's via the highway.

The more scenic route, via the old B6 through Episkopi and Pissouri, passing Aphrodites Rock would take about an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half. A much nicer drive, if time/alcohol permits.

A taxi will cost around £25 each way!
On the highway it takes about 45 mins from Limassol to Paphos.

Thanks for the replies everyone

Think we will go for the taxi option it still works out cheaper than hiring a car for 10 days once you add on all the extra taxes/insurance and the cost of 2 child seats!!

Thanks again for the useful info

If you are the type who dont like to go around and site seeing, then taxi would be okay BUT be careful, try to fix a price with the taxi before you agree on him driving you there. Its better this way . What sometimes happen is that when you reach your destination you will be surprised by the amount of money that you have to pay!!! I said ""sometimes"" and i didnt say all of the taxi drivers do that. just be careful and try to fix the price before going on the trip.

Enjoy your time there

I have been getting quotes from grab that cab and they seem reasonable so will probably stick with them but will bear in mind what you have said if i use private taxis

thanks 8)

Hi,
Its our first visit to Cyprus soon and also for the first time we have a car in another country myself and my partner are a bit nervous about our first drive abroad especially as it is straight from the airport (paphos) to Polis any helpfull hints would be great to get us through our first journey.

The best part of driving in Cyprus is the fact that they drive on the same side of the road as us! However, you will still get mad drivers there, just like you do here. That said, I have never experienced any problems.

It's a fair drive to Polis from the airport, but I am sure someone who drives there regularly, will advise you as to whats best.

Not sure of a blow by blow account from airport but you need to find the B7 which will take you straight from Paphos to Polis.

Done the journey a few times, nothing complicated, some steep bits, some bendy bits, just dont let anyone rush you, most of the roads are just one lane, with few places to pass, roads are of good quality, keep an eye on the rear view mirror, cypriot drivers appear as if from nowhere.

Generally as previously said, in addition, the roads on the whole are quiet compared to the UK. There is some fantastic scenary and as always it will be sunny.

Hve a great holiday. :)
