During normal working hours there are always lots of lorries on the road between Paphos and Polis and, due to the steep inclines, can slow the traffic dramatically.
Due to the Cypriot idea that some sort of divine intervention comes into play when they overtake they just do it.
Be very wary, especially when travelling downhill.

My maxim when driving there:

Always expect the unexpected!
