There was a vending machine in the area of the gates but very little else, and no stimulation whatsoever - zombieland!
That's ok because we will be zombies after the very long day! Thanks for the info :tup

You can take any of the regular buses into the city and it costs very little. I was advised to do this when I went there last June.
That's good news, thanks!

Dublin Airport has been experiencing major delays, diversions and cancellations due to a radar system failure. All flights were grounded for a while, and the airport is now said to be operating at just 65% of its scheduled capacity. Anyone expecting to fly in or out of Dublin Airport within the next 24 hours should contact their airline to check on the status of their flight.

I know that Bewley's Hotel 'near' the Airport offer parking at 8Euro a day - not sure if the price is cheaper if you book a room as well. There is a shuttle bus that runs 24hours and it takes around 10 mins to the Airport.

I stayed at Bewley's Airport Hotel last November. It was very reasonably priced and the room was clean and comfy. I was very satisfied with my choice of hotel. I used the hotel/airport shuttle every day, had breakfast at the airport - 11€ for 12 items and unlimited hot drinks which set me up for the day - and then took the 747 bus into the city. I bought a bus pass for 25€ which gave me unlimited use of public transport and the HOHO bus tour and reductions on entry fees for many attractions. A good buy that I can recommend to you. Please excuse me if I'm a bit :offtop !

Just a reminder to anyone travelling to Ireland, that it too is being seriously affected by adverse weather conditions.

All flights in and out of Dublin Airport are currently suspended until further notice, after two earlier incoming aircraft reported medium to poor braking action.

Beyond the airport, there has also been major disruption on roads and public transport in recent days and so it is worth checking not just your flight status, but also your onward route or transportation.

Aer Lingus and Ryanair are cancelling a number of flights, in anticipation of industrial action by air traffic controllers from 2pm to 6pm on Wednesday. If it goes ahead, the industrial action will affect flights to/from Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports, as well as other flights passing through Irish airspace. Anyone due to fly to/from Ireland on Wednesday is advised to verify the status of their flight with the airline.
