Hi everyone

I fell into the trap of purchasing 200 B&H whilst in Marmaris the first time I visited, yuck, I searched high and low for something that was ok even asked a waiter at our hotel what he would suggest, no luck they were all foul. Every time I travel to Turkey now I get 2 x the 1000 packs in the UK for about £120 and bring them back with me

at my own risk of course

Definitely buy enough for the holiday on the way out airport or plane or in Dalaman airport, as everyone says it is difficult to buy decent cigs in the resort. We spoke to so many holidaymakers smoking all sorts of brands (and coughing!) trying to find a decent smoke.

I agree the fags are rough to say the leased, but if you dont you could try giving up!!!! from a smoker who is always trying

i smoke shop brought Marlbaro light at 3.30 ytl which is cheap for 20
also alcohol you can bring in to turkey 5litres of spirtes per person legally

I smoke the turkish Monte Carlo - Last year think they were about 1.9 million for 20 - But think they have gone up this year. Perhaps you could confirm Tokmak?

at the moment monte carlo are 2.30 ytl but they will gp up again before the summer starts, there is always arise about mid aprill time but never by a lot but still i ont mind most exepensive is 1 pound 50 and thats still way cheaper than uk, i used to be a embassy no1 and bnh smoker but couldnt stand them here unless i brought from airport, but as i dont come back to the uk much they become hard to get so now i stick with marlbaro and even smoke them when i have gone to the uk, i much prefer them now.

Thanks for that tokmak - so i will probably be paying 2.5YTL when i get there in June - Still aint bad when you consider its £4.50 here.

By Law 200 same as entering UK but I have never heard of anyone being stopped.

Duty free on way to Turkey

I have heard this week that restrictions are in place
at Dalaman Airport and you can only buy l litre spirits
and 200 cigs per person, on arrival. Can anyone confirm
this.

Hi there can antbody help I am getting a bit confused here!! I'm blonde! I can get the cigs for my holiday either in Uk airport or at dalaman Airport, but to fetch some home do I get them on the way there or can I get them at dalaman airport on the way back

Hi Chrissy,

On the way home, you are better getting your cigs at Dalaman airport - same price as in the resort, but they will be real cigs at the airport.

i always buy a make called L&M ,, i find them ok and i buy them in any country i visit ,, they ok and very cheap ,, just buy 1 packet and try them to see if you like them first ,,i prefer the red packet ,, about 1.20 tl a packet

Thnks to you both was getting a bit confused, but I just thought I could get them anywhere did not realise that the ones in the shops would give me bronchitus. as I smoke menthol I shall get some from uk airport on the way in so I know that I have got some and then on the way back I shall pick up from dalaman airport. Thanks for you help.

I never buy Duty Free here in UK always at Dalaman on arrival, Cigs B & H are Made in England ones ...I'm a non smoker now, but I always took in 800 and always negotiated a price deal !!...I now get 400 and use them as pressies for the Turkish Waiters etc, they love em and can't afford to buy them...Try smoking the cheap Turkish Fags they are disgusting!!!!

Give it up its cheaper still !!!!! I smoked for 50 years, been off it now for over 2 years !!!!

Yes I think giving it up will be cheaper and healthier, may try it before I go and then I aint worring about gettings fags to take on hoilday

As ladyjan said earlier, the red L+M cigaretts are really firn I buy them every time I visit Marmaris. The prices are really cheap and not a problem to smoke. I think they are about 2 million for 200 (£8.00) I think.
I never buy at Manchester airport or at Dalaman but its up to you to decide why not try them :!:

I tried the Dalaman Airport ciggies

but still found them nothing like the same brand at home {far far stronger and yucky :shock:

} So out of interest I e-mailed the makers of the brand I smoked to see why they were so different. I sent all the info contained on the packs ect. They replied that although the cigs were the same brand and were indeed legal, the tobbaco used varies from country to country hence the difference in taste/strengh. I now get all my supplies on the way out of the UK and just make sure I have enough to bring back again

I actually smoke menthol and find it hard to get them in other countries, So i am gonna get them at the airport just in case, dont want to be caught short
