Agree with djwoody.Plenty places open(just got back!)All the big clubs have shut but if youre taking the kids this means the 18-30s are few and far between so less roudy.Weather is still great too .Ssx

Just got back yesterday from San Antonio Bay. I'm afraid to say that alot of Hotels and Bars were closed or closing while we were there. I felt sorry for the new arrivals, we were getting bored at the limited number of places to go, I've been going to ibiza for years and this is the first time I've seen so many places shut early, the bar owners said that there was just not as many holiday makers as previous years and they were cutting their loses. We are definately going earlier next year.

now im getting worried,has anyone just got back from es cana with any news ?. mo

just returned from the other side of san antonio - cala gracio, and we also noticed how things were starting to close down. The aquapark in playa den bossa closes today (15th) which is a shame if people had planned a visit as part of their hols.

The little bar/restaurant at cala gracionetta is now closed but the 2 bar/restaurants and shop opposite the Tanit are still open for now.

But in the next breath I personally wouldn't have worried as although we ate out a few times, we were AI and never go to the waterpark! So it wouldn't have spoiled my hols. Some of the entertainment team are now starting to leave this week though which is a shame (same stuff going on though).

We normally go in may so can't compare it really but noticed little things like limited choice for icecreams etc in town - but remember the flipside is all the bargains to be had - all shops are discounting and we got some great bargains! Everything in san an town seemed business as usual during the day and the weather was amazing sorry I can't help on the es cana side.

Just got back last night (15th) and i have to report also that things were a lot quieter than at the same time in previous years.

Bar owner i over heard talking to a rep in San Antonio Town said that the drop off had been sudden, no gradual quietening down, they just went from being very very busy a fortnite ago to being dead quiet now.

we go on sunday,as long as the weather is reasonable and there is a bit of variety we should be fine,but i still think that if the travel agents are charging a premium for half term,they should make sure the facillities are there. mo

The weather was great last week, except for a bit of rain for half an hour or so on friday and a strong cool wind on saturday morning. Very hot and sunny again on sunday and it hasn't really cooled down a lot at night either.

Still lots of places open and as its half term next week i'd imagine the resorts will be busier than they were last week.

I don't want to dissapoint you but I live in Es Cana. Where are you staying. A lot of Hotels have bow closed. Charlies the nightclub is closing on Friday. Their will be two places open till the end Grannys and Popeyes.

Yeah well we booked a trip for the end of october (damn late school holidays) in may and we had to change hotels twice because of early closing dates for the previous booked hotel
we now ended up with the Fiesta Palm beach (we had to change from the Fiesta Algarb to this one)
Sounds like the holiday will be a bit on the boring and bad side ...
ah well we will see

hi, davehyp, we have booked for the fiesta cala nova hotel,i have booked direct so there wont be any comeback if it all goes wrong.we usually go to marvent,jacaranda,the italian on the left on the way up to the hippy market,and please please can you tell me if these are still open and the mini fair opposite the atlantic.ive got a horrible feeling that its going to be a disaster. thanks mo.

The jacaranda is open, Marvent is open till the end. The funfair is still there at present. The italian is also open but not sure when they are closing I will find out for you. It is very very quiet here now but the weather has been amazing for october. Today is a little windy but sunny. Hope it doesn't spoil your holiday and if you need any furhter information then please ask.

I have just been to the italian. There isnt a soul on the streets as its cloudy now. They close on the 25th of this month so at least you will beable to go there.

thanks dave,you have put my mind at rest,another quick one, are the boats and buses running as normal, thanks mo ps.ive been trying to think of a backup plan if the cala nova shuts early,have stayed at es cane appartments twice,but thought would try miami,pareso beach,coral playa or eventually end up in santa eulalia...fingers crossed. mo

Hi Mo. The buses and ferries are running ok. The Paraiso beach, Coral Playa has closed. The Miami Es Cana Apts and Cala Nova are open. Dave
