Have booked a villa in Moncarapacho, eastern Algarve for mid September and have never been to the Algarve, let alone the eastern Algarve.
Travelling with a 2 year old and my mother (what was I thinking!!!). Intend to hire a car but can anyone give me any information on where we are staying or the surroundings?
Nightlife not really a priority with a 2 year old as our evenings are likely to be spent around the pool with a glass of wine but would like to do lots during the day. Mom can't walk too far or too fast either so anywhere we go has to be relatively flat and accessible.
Any help or advice would be welcome

I always go to the Eastern Algarve now but have never been to Moncarapacho. I hear that it is nice but not too busy. Obviously it is inland so not on the beach. I think it is more residential.
You will be able to laze around quite easily there in an evening with your glass of vinho.
By car you are only a few minutes away from Tavira (a must), Cabanas, Monte Gordo, Altura ( they are on the beach) and Vila real de Santo Antonio. (they are all flat too, so no probs for mum)
You can also cross the Spanish border into Ayamonte in half an hour or drive to Seville in about 2 hours.
You can also drive towards Albufeira and the west coast in just over an hour.
Hope this helps.
Pat
Thanks Pat that's a great help. I've done a search on all the places you mentioned and it looks just like what I'm hoping for.
