If I find that once I arrive at my hotel (not chosen between one in Paphos or Limassol yet!) that my tour operator does not offer a day trip by plane to Cairo, is it possible to book a trip via anyone locally in the area? (that would be able to be booked short notice, as we are only going for a week)
Thanks
hi there just to let you know that yes there are independant travel agencies where you can book a trip to cairo
Its usually cheaper
Just wondering if the mini cruises to Israel are back on now that things seem to have calmed down? Must admit, when we were there last (2004) they were doing some cruises but the official UK line was to stay away. Would only want to go if all seemed 'ok'
Any advise appreciated ------ we would love to return to Cyprus but a visit to Israel would make it that extra bit special
Cheers folks - and happy Christmas to everyone on HT
Cookie - Shouldn't that be
you dont say when you propose to go ! l understand from my discussions with one of the independent travel agents last October, they dont run the trips approx Nov to Feb ( or there-abouts ). Hope that helps
these months.
I even know somebody who went on this trip in October, one of the last trips for this year......... she said the sea crossing was VERY choppy....... not for the fainthearted..... something people who suffer from sea sickness
should take into consideration aswell
Will we be likely to find day/2 day trips by air?
We would like to see the pyramids if we can, but don't fancy a full holiday to Egypt as we are a bit wary of the security situation.
Thanks
Seems expensive to me... see
All excursions are cheaper booked through these rather than with your rep. We saved CYP19 on our jeep safari to the Troodos Moutains...enough for another trip somewhere else or an evening meal!
The egypt trips seem quite pricey in my opinion im sure they were about CYP250-CYP350 for a day or one night...but it depends how much you wanna go.
I fancied the trip myself but as i was only staying for one week also i thought it would ruin my Cypriot holiday! I remember thinking for the cost of Egypt from Cyprus you could go to Sharm el Shiek for a week!
Personally if i were you i would spend your money trying other things in Cyprus...why not hire a bike or car and go to Ayia Napa or Famagusta view point and mini zoo? (although dont do what i did and think the animals are being mistreated...they have actually been rescued!)
Theres also Protaras Aquarium down the highway....pernera area to explore,as well as Larnaca itself. Cyprus is lovely you wont be dissapointed.
Does anyone know of any day trips by boat to Egypt or Israel. Had a look through and Louis travel only does 2 days and it doesn't start until May. I am going next week, will there be any touristy boats that will take us to Israel/Egypt for the day?
Thanks
Heather
We were in cyprus last week, there is a DAY trip to Cairo via plane, flight out of Paphos at 7:30am and returns to Paphos at 2330 local time.... it's a long day, but fully escorted tour (with police guards as well!!!) - does the museum, the mosque, pyramids and sphinx, papyrus factory, jewellers, lunch at a hotel and a short nile cruise with local music and food.... overall cost about £300pp.
Hi heva i to will be going on the egypt trip but not untill 1st week of may,but i did find this link
Thanks...we were looking into the Israel one but are a bit unsure with the safety situation right now.
