Sue.

Just had a quick look, need a cuppa tea before I die of thirst
The Estudio Sol is coming up as a hotel....Estudio Apartments are apartments/hotel/complex
Looks like two entirely different buildings to me

One review so far, saying basic and simple budget self-catering option in busy town centre, close to beach.

I`ll be back after refreshments to investigate

When I stayed in the Avenida Apartments you could see the balconies opposite, I think they used to be used by Thomsons Just.

Thank you all for the useful feedback.

I have got an idea about the location of both these places now but I understood that the Estudio Sol are apartments according to the wintersunshine holidays site, I'm puzzled now

Wintersunshineholidays also say that Estudios Sol are on
Calle Martinez Aletos not Plaza Pintor Lozano,

The plot thickens

Hi Sue ... Estudios Benidorm are on Avenida Martinez Alejos at the corner of Passeig De La Carretera (better known as The Walking Street), just opposite the Avenida Apartments.

I'm just looking at Winter Sunshine Holidays, and they say that Estudios Sol Benidorm are on Calle Carmela Martinez, which is a different street. If you were to walk downhill on Calle Mayor from the chapel and turn first right, I'm sure that is Calle Carmela Martinez

However, Alpharooms say that they are on Plaza Pintor Lozano. Again walking downhill on Calle Mayor from the chapel and turning first right on to Calle Carmela Martinez, if you carried through on to the start of the Levante promenade, you would find Plaza Pintor Lozano 2 or 3 streets along on the left. The Hotel Bilbaino sits on the corner of Plaza Pintor Lozano and the Levante promenade, just before the Selomar Hotel.

Both companies use the same photo and so are clearly referring to the same complex.

But just to confuse things further, Alpharooms call it the Estudios Sol Hotel, and mention a sister hotel 50m away where meals are taken :hmmm

Sue .... I think I have got it sussed, no thanks to conflicting information and photos on numerous websites.

We know that the Estudios Benidorm are on Avenida Martinez Alejos , opposite the Avenida Apts.

But from what I can identify from photos, it is the Hotel Sol which is on Plaza Pintor Lozano, not the Estudios Sol.

Estudios Sol are on Calle Carmela Martinez, as Winter Sunshine Holidays suggest, which as I said is just at the bottom of Calle Mayor.

The photo which both Alpharooms and Winter Sunshine Holidays use is of the entrance on Calle Carmela Martinez. The apartments themselves must be directly above the El Quijote Nordiskakrogen restaurant which sits on the corner of Gats and Calle Carmela Martinez, immediately opposite the old Town Hall. I have been in that restaurant often but have never been aware of those particular apartments, which I assume are a sister complex of the Hotel Sol along the road.

Hope that makes sense, but as I say, it is certainly not helped by the fact that several websites use the same photos but supply completely different locations and descriptions.

Been on a local travel agents website this afternoon and it says that the Estudios Sol is sold as Hotel Sol and Estudios Sol.
Estudios Sol is situated 50 metres away from Hotel Sol with 4 floors and no lifts, but the rooms are fully equiped as Hotel Sol rooms.

Hotel Sol, built in 1956 and completely renovated in 2004, this beach hotel has a total of 45 rooms spread over 5 floors.
Then, they go on to say that Estudios Benidorm is an apartment complex renovated in 2000 and comprises of 5 floors :hmmm

Estudios Benidorm (old Town)
CL MARTINEZ ALEJOS 2 3500,
Costa Blanca-Benidorm, Spain

So, I`m wondering if there are 3 properties involved here.?
Estudios Sol
Estudios Benidorm
Hotel Sol.

Yes sanji, there are three properties, but I'm not sure if Estudios Benidorm are connected with the other two.

Estudios Benidorm are on Calle Martinez Aletos
Estudios Sol are on Calle Carmela Martinez
Hotel Sol is on Plaza Pintor Lozano

I think they are using the wrong picture.

This site says Estudios Sol has 4 floors but has a lift....and don`t look like any of the other pictures.

So, that`s referring to the Hotel bit...hotel Sol.

But, the website above is clearly referring to the apartments,( 4 floors)...contradicting other information with the lift and photo.
Sue, do what David suggests....book in the Gemelos

That particular external photo of Estudios Sol is used by numerous websites. Some place it (correctly as far as I can tell) on Calle Carmela Martinez. Others describe it as being on Plaza Pintor Lozano, but I think they might be confusing the photo of Estudios Sol with a description of the Hotel Sol, which is on Pintor Lozano.

The internal photo shows a seaview, which I believe is the case with the Hotel Sol. But given the location of the Estudios Sol, one street back from the promenade, it's difficult to imagine that all apartments there would have direct and unobstructed seaviews.

Have just booked this hotel and tying to find out more information. I understand we have to go to the Sol Hotel 50mters away to get our half board option. You have guessed it this hotel was very cheap. Really would like to hear from anyone who has been.

Stayed in Estudios Sol about three years ago. Basic but clean and what more do you need when there's all of Benidorm to discover. Very handy for the old town. Yes, you go to the hotel for meals - very much a Spanish hotel. In fact, we were the only non-Spanish there when we went (October) - the rest were elderly Spanish holidaymaker on their annual free holiday in Benidorm. The rooms aren't massive and the staircase up to the rooms has to be seen to be believed - very narrow and steep (murder when you've had a drink). Can't really say anything good or bad about them - we got them cheap and were satisfied. As I say, they're very basic and clean, in a good area, very close to the beach and the shops. Hope this info is of some use.
