Found it!!!! This is the company that all the major tour operators use to book tours http://www.tamaraguatours.es
Click on Lanzarote, then itinerario then ingles and it describes all the tours available. For the prices click on tarifas y horarios. This table is only in Spanish I'm afraid.
Prices for the most popular tours, going from Puerto del Carmen and Costa Teguise are
Grand Tour 57 Euros
South Tour 42 Euros
North Tour 45 Euros
Fuerteventura Bus Tour 59 Euros
Jeep Safari (Lanzarote) 45 Euros
Jeep Safari (Fuerteventura) 66.5 Euros
Children 2-12 are half price. From Playa Blanca some of the prices are different.
Hope this helps
Thanks madsue! It seems the Lutons Tours trips are quite a bit cheaper then, I know who I'll be booking with!
South Tour, €28
North Tour € Not on it sorry
Jeep Safari €45
Island hopping €46
Catamaran Cruise €61
Grand Island Tour €51
Hope this helps a little
we went lanzagrotte in january ,went on both these trips it was freezing cold there ,a right put off ,timfaya was really borin apart from camel ride which lasts 10 mins we didnt find it value for money at all, ranch texas at night is brill ,a good night out really enjoyed it,rancho day absolute rubbish, the poor animals(animal lovers beware)they do whats meant to be a parrot show.the man puts the parrots on u by picking them up by the beak n swinging them in the air ,i went mad at him,the crocodile show is worse ,they just torture the poor things by jabbing them with poles ,jumping on there backs nclosing their mouths.it is so cruel
We also went on a couple of trips booked with our Airtours rep - we went on the combined Teguise Market & Tropical Bird Park Trip, which was OK but I wouldn't do it again. I wanted to see the old town of Teguise but it was too crowded to appreciate it and there was nothing on the market you couldn't buy in resort; and the Guinate Bird Park was just horrid, dirty and very poorly kept (but I suppose when you've seen the gorgeous Loro Parque in Tenerife you expect everything to match up to that ) The only highlight of the trip was walking further round the road to see the breathtaking view of La Graciosa, although the view from Mirador del Rio is better.
The other trip with our Airtours rep was the Rancho Texas morning trip - this was nicer than the Guinate Bird Park but smaller than I expected. The lassoo and parrot shows were good (although the parrot show was the same as Guinate Bird Park) and the bird-of-prey show was fantastic, with huge eagles and other birds flying right over your head in free-flight. However the crocodile show was very disappointing!
A lot of people from our hotel booked the Rancho Texas evening trip, and the Medieval Night, but we've done these sort of things before, when you've seen one, you've seen them all! They did a cruise over to Fuerteventura but it just dropped you in Corralejo for a few hours with no guided coach tour of a very interesting bigger, older island. Other popular trips were the Submarine Safari and the Catlanza catamaran cruise, but I thought these were a bit overpriced. Maybe another year...
On the whole I thought the reps trips were expensive. The best days out we had were booked with Lutons, they weren't cheap but the reps didn't have any equivalent alternatives anyway and I felt the Lutons trips had more to offer.
Hello!
It depends on where you are staying and who you are travelling with. You can book through your took company (eg My Travel, Thomas Cook, Thomson etc) in resort, sometimes through the hotel / apartments you are staying at or through various shops dotted around the resorts. You will probably be approached on the streets by people giving out leaflets offering excursions. Read them carefully as some may not be what they first seem (eg timeshares!)
Lutons Travel do some very good excursions around the island with English-speaking tour guides. We used them for a few trips this summer and they were excellent - very good value for money compared to the trips sold by your hotel reps. You will find Lutons Travel leaflets under rocks all around the resort, and also Last Minute Travel which are more or less the same company. I recommend them very highly - and there's no timeshare/rug factory/sell-your-firstborn detours with them either - what you see on the leaflet is the tour you get Here is their site:
I should have said that Luton Travel wasn't included in my statements above about the leaflets. I've met lots of people who were happy with their service. It was another company, can't remember their name now that was obviosly trying to get you to a timeshare meeting, it said as much on tyhe leaflet they were giving away!
http://www.resortexcursions.com to book excursions i did this summer and it was all done before i went - good prices too
go onto
I used Luton travel this year, you can phone yourself or get the receptionist at your oitel to book. You pay a small deposit and pay the rest on the coach, the prices were very reasonable and the excursions superb.
Luton Travel is now Last Minute travel.
i was just wondering what good attractions are there in lanzarote/costa teguise for example the water park.
please only list the fun things dont list things like galleries etc:..
p.s.callyxxx...
There are some great trips out, Timanfaya is good, Jameos Del Agua is also good, but they are sort of more relaxing. If you like windsurfing and stuff, you could go to La Santa or El Famara..the waves really crash there and La Santa is renowned for its watersports. We also went up to Orzola and got on a ferry to la Graciosa..it was like stepping back in time. Nowt to do but laze in the sun outside the restaurant and watch the little boats in the harbour. You might find that a little boring..but for me and rob minus the kids it was paradise!!!
There is so much to see on the island..but i guess adventure is what you make it..we found something around virtually every corner.. Enjoy...
We went both in the day and the night.
In the day its like a bit of a mini zoo where they do shows (crocodile, parrot, and birds of prey), horse and pony rides, boats, zip slide, and a little farm, and in the restaurant and show area they give you a taster of the evening show.
Its O.K. to kill a couple of hours.
We went on the night time excursion there too and had a really fantastic night. Theres such a good atmosphere.
All your drinks and food are included in the price and they wer'nt stingy with anything. The beer/sangria kept flowing and you could eat as much as you liked.
The show was brilliant. Adults and kids alike enjoyed it. They get the kids involved then later take them into another room for the bouncy castle then outside for horse rides. My two boys had a ball (and I did )
Another thing to do is the submarine.
We went down to Puerto Calero on our last day but it was fully booked until 3 in the afternoon so we couldn't do it.
Apart from that theres always the watersports. Banana boats, jet skis and paragliding.
There was no paragliding the whole time we were there because the wind was too strong. I was a bit gutted because I was looking forward to it.
*Edit. Website removed as member posting from Spain. Azlantis, we do not allow spam on the forum. Pippy* , so you dont have to take any notice of all those leaflet guys on the streets.
another fairly comprehensive excursion site has over

There's loads to do on Lanzarote! The reps at the welcome meeting will have a selection of good days and nights out for you.

There are a variety of catamaran/submarine/boat trips, but you will have to travel to Puerto del Carmen for these - if you book the trip through your rep there will be a coach provided.
You're going to the Lanzarote Bay, and the waterpark is just up the road from there - out of the main entrance and up the road straight ahead - you could get a taxi but it's really not that far!
For some other ideas see these sites:
http://www.resortexcursions.com/ (including jeep safaris )
http://www.lutonstravel.com/in/excursions/index.html - used these for a few trips in the past, excellent service but maybe not your 'cup of tea' if you want fun rather than history/culture etc

If you want to find out more about the islands cultural attractions and the work of Cesar Manrique try http://www.lanzaroteguidebook.com
It's also worth picking up island magazines like The Gazette and The Buzz to see what events and fiestas are on whilst you are there.
At lanzarote bay now, been told there is building work going on in water park so some of the slides are closed.
