Hi
Don't do it!
We have the experience that a room at pool site will give you very noisy nights.
We had it once and during the nights, lots of drunk guys and girls jump in to the pool, shouting etc....

Regards, Peter

Peter, we have been abroad on numerous occasions over the years. :D
To be honest, people jumping into the swimming pool late evening, ie people coming back from a night out etc, has happened on more than one occsasion!

To be honest, its never bothered us........ just people on Holiday having
fun.

This is the unfortunate part of been near a Pool im afraid :?

If it became a regular problem though, ie every night, im sure the management would do something about it if you asked.

I think that only familys can stay at the Tropico so I don`t think there should be much jumping in the pool after hours.

I stayed at the Sahara (across the road) 3 years ago in October and had no problem with a pool view.

Have a great time.

:D Hi,

After reading the reviews on the above hotel I was wandering if anybody knows the e-mail address of the Hotel. Also where is the best supermarket to shop? We stayed in Magalug over 2 years ago and found the supermarket opposite the holiday expensive. Thanks

Hi Sjacb
We stayed at the tropico last october. If you go towards the back of the hotel it is joined with another called the Jungula(spelling??)this is also a fiesta hotel,go into the grounds of the jungula and you will see their pool walk into reception and just look for the doors that lead you into a street(its actually the front of the Jungula) Right opposite there is a spar and another little supermarket (think we shopped in the supermarket and not the spar) but check out the prices of both if you wish too.

We bought our cans of san migual(its pretty expensive for your beers in the hotel,if i remember rightly it was 5 euro's for a pint and half of lager)
So we used to have our own by the pool(they didnt bother but i think this is cos it was end of season but we did keep them in a cooler bag to hide them away and the one that was open got hidden under the sun lounger :rofl ) It saved us loads of money. Also the icecreams are expensive too (think they ranged from 1.50e to 2.50e and mine tended to go for the latter) now for lots of icecreams a day this REALLY does add up. We got a load of mini milks in different flavours from the same little supermarket as before for 30cents each (bargin  )Just put them in your freezer and when kids want one just go to the apartment to get them.Sorry if i sound a cheap skate  but it really helped with the spendies

Hope my directions are ok and not to differcult to understand.

On the front of the tropico over the road in another fiesta hotel there is also another spar we only went to this a couple of times before i remembered someone on HT telling me about the one at the back through the Jungula.

When do you go :hmmm
Have a good one. :tup

The Fiesta Tropico and Fiesta Sahara are opposite one another (the tropico actually overlooks our bar) and the Fiesta Jungla is attached to the rear of the Tropico. There are several "Spa" type shops about, but they are all similarly priced - some things are reasonable, others are not.

About 200 yards walk down the road is a BIP Supermarket, which is more like a mini market than a Supermarket by UK standards, but it is less for tourists and more for locals, so the prices are better.

About a miles walk away is the Caprabo Supermarket on the outskirts of Palma Nova - this is bigger still, has a better selection, and is cheaper still than BIP, and then about 2 miles away, on the outskirts of Son Caliu is the Mercadona, which has just reopened after a refit, and this is on a par with the supermarkets you would expect at home. It's about 20 minutes walk from Magalluf, or a short bus or Taxi ride, but probably worth it at the beginning of your holiday - you'll save the cost of transport by the goods being cheaper. Not many minutes away from Mercadona is the Lidl Supermarket, which I guess is pretty much the same as UK, what they have is cheap, but not much choice of main brands.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,

Adam

Hi there me again,

I have just been reading some of the older postings on here and in one of them they mentioned the Green Planet which is at festival park (on the main motorway about 10 miles out of Palma) Is this still there? If so does anyone know what it is like?

Many thanks

We stayed at the tropico sept 2005, found the supermarket opposite the doors quite reasonable, The Red Lion cafe/restaurant in the tropico during the day was very very reasonable, good meals and the staff extremely friendly. Portion of chips during the day if you are peckish are massive!

Have a nice one!!

After a few years of booking holidays online thus getting the opportunity to review and vet the accomodation first I have just ventured back into a travel agent for a very late deal on the above...

having got home and subsequently checked on this accomodation my initial euphoria is wearing off...

any positive experiences out there ?

Hi

I've stayed at the Tropico (3 times) and the Jungla (once)..
Fantastic.. !!

Kids ages are 11, 9, 7, we've been going since the youngest was 1 1/2..

Only problem for me is they don't do family rooms or rooms that will take five people (2 adults and 3 children).
