It'll be by bus, Rising Star. Knowing our luck we'll be last off the bus  we usually are.

Oh my god, just been channel hopping and on ITV2 right now is a programme called Holiday Airport, Cyprus. My god, Larnaca airport looked sooooooo busy and Excell airlines were getting it in the neck. They were checking in people who had booked flights directly with them and everyone else had to check in last. There was pandomonium as people who had been in the queue first were raging, i don't blame them. That's outrageous, does this still happen as I don't know how old the programme is. We booked through Airtours....................guess who we are flying with???

Cazz......I wouldn't get too worried or you'll worry yourself into a frenzy by the time you go to Cyprus next year

I make the trip to Larnaca at least 3 times if not more every year and apart from the odd hiccup I can't say I've every been overly stressed by the experience.

By the time you go some further improvements will have been made and all in all I don't mind Larnaca airport at all, it's vastly improved since I first started visiting 24 years ago, but I do think it's now too busy without the neccesary improvements they're planning.......it's just got soooo popular over the years.....which can't be all bad as it says alot about this beautiful island

Just be thankful your not going to Paphos.....AGHHHHH :?

Ok just got back last night (Sunday)

organised chaos!!!!! at Larnaca

Getting into the actual airport is a nightmare but the new group are working on it and have put up barriers to stop hire cars parking any old where they can find a space . so this was better.

Chaos in the check in hall First choice flight due to fly 15.20 and still passengers trying to check in at 14.50 luggage conveyers still stopping and starting slowing the whole check in proccess down so the staff had no option to wait for the belt to keep starting up and moving a few inches as the cases were going nowhere. Cant understand why they did not get a few strapping men behind moving the cases on to the trollies , but that would be to easy instead we had officials standing watching and observing the situation.

Queues for passport control stretched from there back to arrivals and back again lots of passengers queue jumping and causing friction.

Again screens say boarding now but when you get there no buses to take you to the planes. then in the middle of boarding told to change gates

1 hour delay due to all this organised chaos , back to a Saturday night flight for me arriving early Sunday morning and departing Saturday evening, worth the extra pounda to avoid this chaos,

why oh why do all the charter flights have to arrive and depart at the same time , when we arrived our luggage was on a conveyor with a Moscaw flight and some other flight cases were strewn all over the floor as the staff must have taken the ones of the belt that had not been claimed due to the owners being stuck in the immigration queue. pity they had not moved the cases to the side to let other flights in to get to their cases.

Roll on the next adventure at the airport in a few weeks time, what an impression for first time visitors, we have been going for many a year and know about the new airport but some visitors dont and all to frequently you hear last time we will be coming back here.

Toilets were still the usual grotty state no soap no towels and dryers not working.

After checking in your luggage there is an upstairs seating area with an outside terrace , if there queues are not so big for passport control you can always nip up there for a last bit of sun, and destress

Still would not let it put me off visitng Cyprus worth a few hours of chaos for all that lovely sunshine.

Hopefully it wont put off the visiotrs from other countries that Cyprus are trying to encourage.

Still dont understand why charters all have to land and take off at the same time. :?:

This would ease congestion surely

after 10 days on the beach and getting hotter and hotter and us getting lazier and lazier it takes so much effort in all that heat just to even think about doing anything

I can understand why they take so long to do anything.

Love it.
