Wife and I (37 and 38 YO) have just booked a week end of September to Tenerife, Torviscas Playa.
We have never been before and wondered what we can expect, weather, things to do etc.
What would you reccomend we do (keep it clean) as we dont have the kids and can let our hair down, chill relax or party as the mood takes us.
Also anyone else near us or in the same hotel 25th Sept onwards?

You are right in the middle of a really good area for bars and entertainment and restaurants.
Moonlight Bar is right on your doorstep which has regular cabaret acts and karaoke every night till 2am.
Several similar bars all along the front on Fanabe Beach.
About 800 yards towards the centre of town is St Eugen's bar in my opinion easily the best bar around. Brilliant singer starts at 8pm warming up whilst people eat then the incomparable Mike Carlton starts at 930 compering the evening with 3 top quality acts running till 12.45 or so then disco style session continues to 3am.
Near to here is O Reillys bar which has a resident live band called Kick each night from 12 midnight till 4am and the place really rocks. I have crawled home about 4 times this week after great gigs from the 4 piece band.
Further into town is the infamous Veronicas/Starco area which is a bit run down at the moment due to loads of road works but lots of lively no holds barred places are still regularly packed. I am 38 but I feel a bit old around this area.
About 800 yards in the other direction is a market on Thursday and Saturday located in front of our hotel Costa Adeje Gran. Plenty of bargains to be had but it gets very packed. Dont be afraid to knock the price down on jewellry sunglasses and watches etc. And dont EVER take a scratchcard no matter how convincing and attractive the "reward" appears. It will ALWAYS lead to a hard sell afternoon of timeshare rip offs.
If your partner has long hair then she will get hassled by the african hair braiders. Looks very good but it hurts when the sun starts to burn your head and you may end up wearing a hat after all. They can be quite rude but just keep walking. Most of the restaurants have people outside trying to get you in. A polite no thanks I have eaten at the hotel is usually sufficient if you dont want to go in. They are always polite and dont hassle you at all.
There is an almost infinite supply of taxis to transport you around the area.
Dont be pushed into any excursions by your tour rep on your first morning. Whatever they offer is usually available cheaper at the vast amount of Excursion offices around town.
Sure you will have a great time and if you search around this forum nearly every question you may have will already have been answered except for contemporary questions.
We are looking forward to it so much, had 2 weeks with kids in Dom Rep end of April so this is our time to chill and have some fun.
Cant wait especially as its raining all the time here lol.
Again thank you.
the Lusky's
The hotel is in the best area for nightlife away from the younger louts, i reccomend you go down to the beach bar to watch the sun set which you'll see from the pool area in the hotel if you look out to the sea.
Have a good one!!!!

I am on holiday here for the 14th or 15th time. We return at least once every year. I have several friends over here who make me feel like i am at home which is why i enjoy it here. The reply i gave is only brief. There are loads of things to do elsewhere. I just kept it reasonably close to your hotel which is right in the middle of my favourite area.
It is a lovely area, and we spend almost every day at the beach (there is a charge for the sunbeds, I think 12 Euros or so per day for two sunbeds and one of the parasols) They do beach service of food and drinks too, so if you fancy a lazy day, you don't even have to get up to get food.
Hope you have a lovely time. I can't wait till my return (7th september cannot come soon enough for me)
Do you go to same hotel each time you visit tenerife, we were staying there in march and going back 14th aug, its a lovely hotel and we got really good deal for two weeks so decided to go back.
I have stayed 3 times at Costa Adeje Gran and you are correct it is immaculate. We are sad to be packing our cases after a great fortnight this morning. We have been allowed a free courtesy room to allow our baby to sleep today as we dont fly home till 11:30 tonight which is kind of the hotel as the nightly charge would have been €300. I would have no hesitation returning here nor recommending to anybody else.
that is great they have gave you a room, we had our granddaughter with us in march and know what its like if they don t get their sleep, she was 9mths at the time and the waiting staff were brilliant with her.
