Sorry to hear about your change of flight, unfortunately I dont think there is much you can do. If your flight times are changed by more than 12 hours I beleive you have options, eg cancellation, which is not a great option. I know its a pain but Im sure youll make thebest of it

Yes my going flight changed back an hour but coming home I booked at 14.55pm flight and now it's 03.20 AM, hate night flights coming home.

It is so annoying. I wanted the day flights as my 82 year old dad fell and cut his head open last year after a night flight coming home as he was so tired.

Hi Mary, Our flight was cancelled one month before going, we had Booked up back in January. I believe you will find that flight changes are because of Tour Operators being unable to fill the aircraft. Our flight was from Birmingham on a Saturday morning at 10.25am, getting to resort in Turkey mid-evening. Returning, we were to be picked up at 3am from resort, for a 9.30am landing back in Birmingham. We were given the choice of flying from Manchester on the same day or going one day earlier from Birmingham. We elected to go one day earlier and it actually worked out better, as we had the whole weekend on our return to get everything sorted in readiness for returning to that four letter swear word called work !!

Hi Mary - They look like my flight times - TCook Gatwick to Dalaman. I'll be upset as well as there were lots of horrible flights to choose from but paid more for decent flight times.

When I booked it was with Mytravel so I had a feeling this may happen. How soon did the tour operator let you know? I go in 5 weeks.

If my maths is correct Mary thats a 10 hour difference . they seem to always make sure that any change comes just under that 12 hour rule so there is nothing you can do .

As you say lesley these flights are always more and the flight supplements paid are normally made clear on your breakdown invoice but do you ever get that money back . Not on your life ..Im sure most people now understand that when we book holidays so far ahead the flight timings are subject to change but Its about time T/Os stopped this practice of refusing to even offer so much as a refund for the extra that has been paid when quite clearly they have the figures in front of them.

I booked a year ago with thomas cook for a 07.55 departure from gatwick to arrive in dalaman at 2pm and then the resort at 4.30pm. It was changed 5 weeks ago to depart at 11.00am for which they informed me by letter and then when checking my seats that i had already booked where still ok, i found out that it was changed again to 11.45am and still no letter but i am going on monday and tickets state 11.45am. I know its not a big change in time as some of you have had but these T/O should get their act together if they want our custom in this day and age.

I have used the same flight TCX 448k /L for the last 3 years and since the merger T/c have gone to pot !!

I have already booked for next year using the same flight number and day of departure but the time on invoice states 07.00am - lets see when the time comes what time they will pick for the flight ??

They phoned me yesterday to tell us our tickets had arrived,but the flights had changed,we go in 3 weeks.If these flights were in the brocure when we booked i would have looked for different ones,i hate night flights,so do my kids,we should not be forced into them,i book early to get day flights,now this has changed,we also loose a day,not fair,going to speak to them this morning.Not very happy

Mary I know this isnt going to be easy especially with children but please dont let it spoil your holiday . We work hard and look forward to our holidays for so long . Doubt very much if there is anything thomas cook will do now but of course its worth a try.

Maybe on a more positive note I think you will actually gain more time in resort. You probably wouldnt of done a lot with that couple of hours in the afternoon except unpacking but you will gain a whole extra day on your leaving day . Where you would normally have left for the airport early you can now treat that as a whole day, maybe as a goodwill gesture you could ask thomas cook to pay for a late checkout room. Then you could go about a normal day ,lunch, back to your late room which is quite often your own room anyway , shower,change, off to dinner dumping your cases at reception on the way ready for a pick up when its cool around 8pm. Thats what we would do .

We booked in October because of good flights and flying from Edinburgh our local airport in January we went to pay money towards holiday and found out flights were changed to Glasgow and like yourself crap night flights we were told accept the change or cancel .We accepted change reluctantaly as they told us this was the only flight option to Dalamn they then sent us the letter from First Choice dated two weeks previous

Hi all ,been down to travel agents this morning,they tryed to get us day flights but no luck,offered us different flights,from a different airport but these were no better,only a couple of hours different,but an extra 1 hours travel for us to the airport so no luck there,have to make do with the flights,we have,never mind i know we will still have a fantastic holiday,hope everyone else has a great time xx

We also have 20kgs luggage allowance,thought we only had 15kgs but our tickets say 20

Oh well at least they made an effort and tried for you Mary . That at least makes you feel a tiny bit better and glad to see your not going to let this cloud your holiday spirit.

We flew to Dalaman from Newcastle in May. We also booked last year and our original times were similar to yours. They were changed in November to exactly the same time as yours. Thomas Cook wouldnt pay for the room extension but they did book it in advance for us, (which cant usually be done until near the end of your holiday), at a cost of £12. You do actually score for a full day at the end of your hols as has been mentioned provided you can cope with the night flight, which isnt too bad really, provided youve got a fiver for a blanket and pillow ,if you need them, on the plane!!! Nothing on a plane is free now, theyll be charging you for the air you breath shortly!! The 20kg of luggage is right too as well as 5kg hand luggage.

just got my letter from aegan flights i was meant to be going from glasgow on sat 20th sept 21.00 now flying fri19th at 20.00 coming back it was 17.15 on sat afternoon now it's at 05.20 it the morning got to try and rush home from work now on the friday to get ready instead of relaxing to go on the sat , oh well i suppose it's an extra day in altinkum so i cant complain to much
