hi les 127 just came back from goa this week first choice fantastic extra legroom makes such a difference leather seats very comfy only complaint i have is i would not upgrade the entertainment its only £5 but a waste of money as on both trips the screens froze time and time again on the outward flight i asked for a refund for the four of us was told no problem but somehow the steward managed to dissapear still just a minor problem on an otherwise great flight

have taken this thread back by popular demand. Please note that this thread is for SPECIFIC questions re flights to and from Goa. It is not here to replace the flights/airlines and airports forum. If you have general questions about the aircraft, companies or UK airports please post them there. Any questions posted on this thread that are not Goa specific will be moved to the Flights forum.I will not leave a link here as it is often useless as posts get merged.
If this causes too many problems or complaints I may have to reconsider. (Please note that other forums do not allow flight questions.) I have an evergrowing list of forums to mod and I don't want to mod a mini flights forum as well!!
Please also note that any flights questions posted outwith this thread will be moved to here.

A reminder of the first post.
Future questions which not are not Goa specific will be moved to the flights forum. In any case a lot of these queries are already answered there.

Just paid £291 each with Direct Holidays for 2 weeks, I hope its a Mytravel plane and not the Monarch one from last year.

Leave Mcr 20:05hrs 09/02, so see you all at Camp 69 in Morjim for a very cold Kingfisher.

going on the 28th jan from manchester with monarch, please tell me monarch is not as bad as everyone makes out ????

Monarch are exactly what it says on the tin, a cheap way to get from a-b, so dont expect to much. We have done both premium and regular seats and got to say im 6ft and found the regular hard going. My advice is try not to sit just behind the engines as when everybody else is cold you will be very warm, take one of those blow up travel pillows to sleep and just think to yourself paradise is waiting.

Coming home I try to have a late night then sleep as much as possible.

The stop at Bahrain will be a godsend so make the most and walk around.

Good luck

Hi Ruth.goodwin,
As far as I know the Monarch flights from Gatwick are direct with no stop offs. Monarch planes certainly are tightly packed with little leg room. First Choice are definitely a better option. On saying that we will be flying Monarch in March as we got a really cheap package with Thomas Cook. Sure it's only for a few hours and I think it's well worth a wee bit of discomfort to get to one of the best places in the world.
Enjoy your hol.

Words of wisdom when booking in at Goa airport on your return flight.

The check in desks are weighing everything that you have (including hand luggage) if you are over your allowance they then come up with a ridiculous charge, ususally starting of at £160  then, after your show of indignation at the exhorbitant price, usually accept £20.

Try and get water and food before arriving at the airport, again exhorbitant prices are charged, especially when you are in the departure lounge.

If you are going to buy anything (food/drink wise) pay with rupees, not £££. Other than that, hope you have enjoyed :D your hols.
