--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are links for flight companies to India
For airline and airport quality
what kind of flights do the long stay use
1. The cheap charters,default on the return date and then just book a charter oneway when returning
2. The more expensive scheduled flights via Mumbai
3. A oneway scheduled flight and return on a cheap oneway charter
I would be grateful for any advice as I will staying approx one year maybe more. I know a lot of long stay people use this forum and give invaluable advice! Any airline info would also be great .
thanks v.much

Since the deregulation of indian airspace the scheduled flights have come tumbling down. In our case we are going with Jet Airways flying H/row/Mumbai/ Goa with good flight times and short transit time through Mumbai. We booked it months ago at a return price of £470 If you want to transit through a Gulf hub with the likes of Kuwait Air and put up with more inconvenient times and longer Mumbai transits you will be even cheaper, so it's no more rotten charters for us Alan
Hope this helps, and when I think of his name I will let you know!
where??
podsufc - there was a delay from manchester this afternoon to Goa, and allanmarian was just saying he hope it doesn't have a knock on effect because he's flying out tonight from Goa.
I know about the delay cos we were waiting to come home. never mind it only added about another hour so it wasnt that bad
Hi, I know i asked this earlier but no one has replied , but has anyone used Air India before to get to Goa via Mumbia, iwould like to know what are/is the planes and seating like?, what is the service like and food?, in fact anything that anyone can tell me from personal experience, i've already viewed their web site and seen whats on there.
I would also ask this on the Flights forum. I am sure you will get some info there.

could you please go to the flights forum to view the My Travel thread please? I can not move your query as you will lose it in the forum!

Hi Fiona thanks for moving the post, but we've finally booked; we leave Heathrow at 9.30pm on Christmas Day (so get xmas morning @ home) and spend 3 glorious weeks in Goa (including New Year, Yaaaa! ), all for £900 for the 2 of us, ok that doesn't include accommodation but while we were over there we managed to secure a fantastic place at a very good price.
Just done a web search;
Flight only to Goa;
From London to Goa carrier Jet Away one stop £470.10.
From Manchester to Goa carrier British Airways three stops £1434.
JA from Heathrow one stop at Bombay then onto Goa.
BA from Manchester to Heathrow then join the JA flight,
That my friends from the north will cost you an extra £963
(I deleted this paragraph save Fiona a job)

Can anybody give me details of any websites for flights to Goa from Birmingham only. I believe Thomson do flights to Goa but I can't find it on their website...Help!!!
when you log onto Thomson's web site under holiday type select sun pacakges and under any brochure faraway shores. this should allow you to select holiday's in Goa. I did this in December 2005 so i am assuming you can still book this way. I thought the service we recieved from them was brilliant.
there are other web sites ie instant holidays, directline but i tend to use the ones i have dealt with in the past before.
best of luck
Ivan
Take a look at http://www.airflights.co.uk. I just booked with them for 21 nights over Easter for a total of £333, flying from Gatwick. Check out departures from Birmingham. They seem to have the best prices at the moment. Good Luck!

Did the £333 include all these add ons:-
Basic cost £274
Security levy £ 9
Fuel Supp £ 50
Optional meal £15 , but i never eat on planes anyway. Flying from GAtwick with Thomsons. 21 nights
Can anyone tell me please, what is reasonable price to pay for flights only to Goa for Jan next year. Some prices are coming out approx. 450.00 If we leave this until mid-year could we get something less expensive or is this reasonable. I have not good a clue! thanks
