Hi people, do any of you have experience of booking a flight only to Goa in Nov or Dec cheaply? I want to book flight only, i think i have seen somewhere on this forum that towpal booked a flight only to goa in Dec and it was really cheap.

PS i have looked for flights in Nov/Dec 2006 and the cheapest im finding is £380 pp returning 14days later. I dont want to pay this so would it be better waiting til the last minute and booking a cheap flight? want it to be about £200 pp

Thanks

hi all you goa lovers ,i am looking for some advice on where to get cheap flights, whenever you speak to people they always tell you how cheap there flights are but can never remember where or who they booked with i would be grateful if anybody has any first hand information on this.

we have recently bought a villa and an apartment but seem to be struggling on the flight situation , we like to go out in april and xmas , but we are soon hoping to move over for good then we can live in the villa and rent the apartment out.

Yy, you will be very lucky to get a flight for£200 the cheapest we have ever had is £250pp from manchester, watch out for the add ons, t.o.d. airport tax, fuel tax, credit card charge security levi etc most flights quoted teletext etc are not what they seem. If i could get one for under £300 I would go for it, :gluck

Hi, I've been looking at flight only too! it seems if you book dormhouse accom with your flight you get a better deal, or at least find one.

I'm just browsing at the moment found here's what I found. Goaway do a good deal on 2 centre goa & Kerela too!

We waited until 12 days before deptarture and got dormhouse from Direct Holidays for £249 each in Feb for 2 weeks. This was with My Travel Flights and was good. No surcharges either but we did pay £10 extra to sit together.

Hope this helps

Do you still have to go through the rig-marole when leaving the country?

I am really referring to the part when your flight has been called and you are all queing to get to the plane and you have to go through yet another search.

You already would have shown your boarding card and passport several times. You would have gone through a cubicle to have some woman waving the metal detector about your body. Your bag would have been scanned. As you prepare to go through the departure gate you are stopped again while a man checks to see that your luggage label has been stamped. Yet you have more faff trying to get to the plane.

Do we know the reason for the last search? Is it to keep people in jobs?
More importantly, do the airlines mind as surely this can delay take-offs?

We cam e back on 24/2 and we didnt have the extra search on the way out. But was told by someone who had been there the previous day that they do still do it on certain flights. Luck of the draw I guess.

BTW I questioned this last year and was told that it was used as a training excercise for the nearby military camp.

Be careful if you are bringing home rupees or a lot of duty free because they will take it off you.

Have to say though that this year both going in and coming out of the country was much much easier than previous times.

Quite agree. Its a nonsense, suppose its to keep them in a job. That is the only thing that puts me off 'The Airport" it makes me feel so intimidated. Must be a glutton for punishment though am arriving Thursday for 3 weeks!

We came home on 11 February and yes we had the extra check right at the very end before boarding the aeroplane.
I think they are looking for folk who have bought extra cigerattes at the duty free so they can take the extra ones off you :x

I am hoping to go to Goa for Christmas/New Year, flying around the 21st from Manchester. I need flight only.

I have had a look on the internet at a couple of flights and they seem to be costing in the region of £750 :!:

Does anyone know what the best way is to get a cheaper flight at that time of the year? Any good sites anyone can recommend or am I best waiting to try and get a last minute deal.

Thanks

I have been looking for a similar flight, what I have found is that 3 / 6 weeks before departure is about the cheapest, a few days before departure is even cheaper if you want to take a chance and no choice on the carrier.

As I have had to move some threads recently I thought I should post a reminder of the first post on this thread. ( and of course - some may not have read that far back anyway! :D )

I have taken this thread back by popular demand. Please note that this thread is for SPECIFIC questions re flights to and from Goa. It is not here to replace the flights/airlines and airports forum. If you have general questions about the aircraft, companies or UK airports please post them there. Any questions posted on this thread that are not Goa specific will be moved to the Flights forum.I will not leave a link here as it is often useless as posts get merged.
If this causes too many problems or complaints I may have to reconsider. (Please note that other forums do not allow flight questions.) I have an evergrowing list of forums to mod and I don't want to mod a mini flights forum as well!!
Please also note that any flights questions posted outwith this thread will be moved to here.
Lecture over! I hope you find this thread a useful additon to our forum.

We are due to fly out with Monarch on Sunday (couldn't get on 1st Choice unfortunately - so going Premium - hope it's worth it)

Phone call today - gather that MON2682 due to depart @ 13.30 on Sun 12.3.06 will now depart 14.45. Return flight was scheduled for 27.3.06 MON2683 will now leave @ 07.15

Presume others have been told the same?
