I must be bonkers, but I can't find any flights from Manchester (or Birmingham) that do not go via Heathrow. We want to fly for a month in January and prefer not to trek down to London, if we can help it. I've searched on this forum and done searches on travelsupermarket etc.
Do all flights to Goa/India operate this way, or am I just looking in the wrong place? All I can seem to find is Manchester - Heathrow - Mumbai - Goa. Is there any way round this? Thanks for any advice - I'm losing the will to live!!
Try Monarch they were doing manchester direct to goa last year. stop off for refuel at Bahrain. Not the best airline though!
I think Emirates fly directly from Manchester to Mumbai (or they at least used to...) Hope this helps
Thanks very much, both of you - I'll check them out

Just book a one way ticket to Goa,as the rules on the 28 day max rule with charter flights has been scrapped.

I also heard that some people got turned away from Manchester airport because they didnt have any proof of where they were staying.
I hope that doesnt happen to me, as we wont have any proof of accomodation (booking it when we get there)
Was hoping someone could clarify this rule?
Those rules only apply to charter flights not scheduled ones. Most flight only charter deals include, printed on your ticket,"includes one nights dormhouse accomdation".and this is acceptable to the Indian authorities. The problem last year seemed to be some jobsworths at Manchester who were carrying out this daft rule to the letter and refusing anyone who had'nt a voucher for accomodation either in their booking documents or on their tickets,to travel to Goa. Scheduled flights are not included in this condition however
Nicola
