That is a long way in a 737.
According to other reports, they have leased their two 767's to Air India for the forseable future, and are hoping to wet lease two 767's

But on the PPRUNe web site, they are saying that these will be for other routes not the Sanford route

Glasgow to Paphos, looking at the seat plan does anyone know if there is a difference in the leg room with the 'Standard Plus Seat' at £12.50, and the Emergency Exit Seat at £12.50?
Cheers,
Janet
does anyone know if you have to pre book seats or if you will still be able to sit together if you wait until you get to airport ? dont want to fork out another 40.00, thanks
Don't waste your money pre booking seats. We have never pre booked a seat in 25 years of travelling as a family and have always been seated together. and that includes Flyglobespan flights. It is just another money making scheme.
thanks jackie, we havnt gone diy before and was just a bit worried that you had to prebook with globespan, will just check in a wee bit early.
If it was Spain and a 2 hour flight I wouldn't bother, but when it is a 5 hour flight it's worth it for the extra leg room for us. We look at as a treat starting our holiday off.
Having said that, there are only 2 of us.
Cheers,
Jinty
Globespan appear to be having major problems from Edinburgh this year , hardly a day without mega delays ( Malaga seems worst affected ) . Reason anyone ? IMHO this airline is heading for trouble big-time with haphazard expansion , ambitious schedules etc . They were excellent in the past .
Worrying, as I go on 22nd May from Glasgow to Cyprus for 5 weeks.......
I would not worry about Glasgow , that base seems OK !! EDI seems the problem . Could be that they are short of aircraft . 0835 to Malaga this morning still has not left , 1610 cancelled .
That is worrying, we leave from Edinburgh on May 23rd to Barcelona, anyone any ideas how that is running? We have never flown with this airline before....just typical that there should be problems
- A Luggage tug drove into one of the 4 a/c and rendered it unusable for 2 days
- The toilets in the other aircraft failed due to someone flushing something down the loos which blocked them, they were fixed then went down again making the aircraft tech in malaga
- Another a/c was sent to rescue the fligth which went tech downroute in Malaga.
It would appear each aircraft is taking it's turn in refusing to leave! We had the same aircraft last summer and all things were OK. I'm sure once the full summer season kicks in everything should be fine.

Emmmmm.............
Out of around 20 flights to Tenerife from Glasgow the latest we've ever been was 2 hours on a return flight normally we're only a few minutes either side of landing/take off
Looks as if the first flights from Aberdeen with GSM have been attracting good loads. Will be interesting to see if further expansion out of the granite city will continue.
Which Aircraft forms the 1615 Malaga departure from Edinburgh GSM 473 ? Is it the incoming 1500 Palma or the 1545 Malaga arrival ? Curious as in the first year they had an impossble turnround of only 35 mins on their Malaga flight .
I think on ocassion it is the inbound Malaga that has done the return leg....however I do know that GSM still have problems on this route with more delays being made on EDI-AGP. Globespan should take note that passengers are becoming increasingly aware of the problems on this route!
Todays Globespan flight due from Orlando Sanford at 13.15 in Glasgow has no arrival time showing. Globespan were having trouble with a Manchester flight yesterday. Looks like they continue to have problems long haul as well....but probably no surprise when confusion reigns over 737 800 series aircraft/ B757 or 767's being used.
Poor passengers waiting for that one
Seems Globespan had no arrangement in place for refuelling at Toulouse so had to start negotiating payment. They also had to empty the hold to find the man's luggage and plot a new flight path.
They coped really well IMHO. We were kept informed and ended up in Alicante only a couple of hours late.
I'm sure those waiting there to come back to Edinburgh weren't best pleased but this was totally out of the airline's control.
I've no idea how the sick passenger is. Does anyone know?
