Hi everyone,

Flying in September from Liverpool to JFK, New York with Globespan. Have booked business class to get extra's etc like leg room.

Does anyone know which seats are the best to choose cos the globspan site dosen't give you much idea.

And are they going to use the Boeing 757-200 for these flights.

Thanks

I know I have asked the following question before a while back but what are the chances of us all getting seats together (2 adults, 3kids) if we don't pre book? The £50 return seems an awful lot extra if it isn't necessary, we havn't flown with this airline before and have no idea what to expect. The seats aren't available to book for another couple of weeks so is it worth it or not? Thanx for any advice

Have flown with Globespan a couple of times and got seats together although they were not prebooked. In fact we have never pre booked our seats on any flight and have always got four together. Just get to the check in pretty much as soon as it opens. Also depending on the age of your kids they have to sit you together anyway.

Thanks Jackie, Our kids will be 11, 10 & 8 when we travel, what age do they have to be to sit with us? What happens if most of the seats are already pre booked when we get to check in? Will we only get the rubbish seats that no one wanted? Surely they must have to keep some rows free? Anyone know how it works?

Don't know exactly how it works but i'm sure someone will.
Regarding the age of your kids, I don't think you will have any problems regarding seating. Once when our three kids used to come away with us (eldest does his own thing now) and they were about the same age as yours are now we had three seats one side of the aisle and two the other, so although all together my husband and I sat in the two seats across the aisle as the kids wanted to sit together. Before take off the stewardess asked us if one of us would swap seats with one of the kids so that there was an adult sitting with them. So I can't see them splitting you up anyway. If by any chance they did just ask the steward/ess when on board if someone would exchange seats to enable you all to be together, most people are accommodating.

Does anyone have a clue what Globespan are up to with regard to the recently launched Larnaca flights from Stansted ? A friend of ours was about to book them and they disappeared from the system....he rang them and they were of no help at all........this week they're back on the website

Are they doing this route or not :?: I don't think Globespan know :x

I believe there were (perhaps still are) a few glitches in the system today. Some routes were shown on their timetable pages, but not in the booking system. Others were shown in the booking system, but not on the timetables.

Flyglobespan has announced new transatlantic services to New York and Boston from Ireland West Knock Airport in County Mayo commencing in May. The news will be welcomed by travellers from Ireland.

However, what is less clear on Flyglobespan's online timetables and booking system, but which has been reported by Irish media, is that these are flights which originate in Glasgow and Liverpool.

Hopefully the website will be updated soon to reflect these schedule changes, if media reports are correct. But meantime anyone who has booked or is considering booking Flyglobespan summer services from Glasgow to Boston, or Liverpool to New York, should bear in mind that there could be an unexpected (and so far unmentioned) stopover at Knock in Ireland on both the outward and return sectors.

Does anyone know what departure gates Fly Globe Span use at Stansted Airport as I am flying with them to Tenerife (Flight No:GSM667) and would like to book an airport lounge. The lounge information states that it is only suitable for passengers departing from departures gates 1 to 19. I would be grateful if anybody could help with this matter. :?

Am sure some Stansted regular will be able to correct me and advise. However when passing thru' Stansted fairly recently I have seen Globespan parked in various corners of the airfield and I would certainly not guarantee that they will operate on a regular basis from the gates stated. I wonder why the lounges are only suitable for these gates? Is this due to lounge being allocated on a certain pier?

Does anyone know how many B767's Globespan currently have in their fleet, what their seating capacity is?

They currently have 2 767-300s in their fleet and they are adding a third for the summer season starting May 1st.

Anyone know what check in is like at Barcelona airport? I have read that Globespan are supposed to leave from terminal A but someone missed their flight because it actually left from terminal B, apparantly Globespan use a third party check in at Barcelona and it has no Globespan signs up, we have never been to Barcelona airport before and this is a little worrying as apparantly Barcelona is a very big and busy airport anyway, how far apart are terminals A & B? We are flying from Edinburgh in May returning in June. Thanks for any help :?

Globespan use 3rd party (airline handlers) at all airports outside UK. BCN (Barcelona) is a fairly large airport however you can walk from inside the building from Terminal A to Terminal B. Allow at least 15 minutes for this.

Terminal of departure for GSM (Globespan) may well be down to gate allocation for arrival flights. Not to sure as never flown GSM out of BCN. However the departure screens will clearly indicate where to check in. Further when at the checkin desks you will see the relevent flight number prefixed by GSM.
