Anyone who has longhaul flyGlobepsan flights coming up, hopefully things should get massively better in the next week or so. They are leasing 2 767s from an Italian airline, the first of which will be arriving this week, the second before the end of the month. They are also getting a second 757 from Icelandiar in the next week or so. That should help things a little!
We are flying next week Edinburgh to Barcelona, anyone know of any probs with that route?
most of the European routes have been fine. you can check the flights on the BAA edinburgh airport web site
Hi thanks for that I certainly will, lets keep our fingers crossed
bagand96 I hope I get one of those 767s but I'm resigned to make the most of whatever I end up on now.
thanks thanks bagand96 I hope I get one of those 767s but I'm resigned to make the most of whatever I end up on now
Thats ok, just relieved there is some good news for Gloebspan passengers!
It depends where you are flying to, but from what I understand one of the 767s will be flying the busy Canadian routes from as soon as it arrives, and the other will operate the Orlando Sanfords from the end of May. The rest of the Canadian routes will be operated by the 757. Thats the plan, but as always guess its subject to change...
They started off so well this morning as well. Left Glasgow for Belfast en route to sanford only an hour late, but made up 30 mins on the flight. However they should have left belfast at 10:30, but have still not left..Oh and its a 763 on the route today
What on earth is going on at Edinburgh airport this morning?? Its not just Globespan who are delayed, it appears all the flights from there are late???
Not sure twinkletoes, but we do have a separate
Has anyone noticed the Globespan flight to Barcelona GSM401 that was due to take off at 09.00 seems to still be on the runway at Edinburgh?? It is coming up on the web site as taxied at 10.50, we are due to catch this flight next week, anyone know anything?
This airline has degenerated into a complete shambles . The Edinburgh/alicante appears to have gone tech again in Spain , yesterday the Barcelona arrival into Edinburgh was about 6 hours late . Scarcely a day goes by without a major delay . The schedules have impossible turn -rounds in most cases . They are heading for adverse times in a big way . shame , as they have been reliable in the past .
I am flying with globespan to Barcelona on 6th June and was wondering if you are allocated seating upon checking in? I know you can pre book for £5 per person but was wondering if this was going to be necessary?
Does anyone have a rough idea when the 2008 prices for Globespan will come out as there customer service team isnt very helpful as I am looking to book flights from Glasgow to Athens.
Thanks in advance
Cheryl
I would wait to see if they are still a going concern at the end of this year before thinking about next! If you do book, make sure you have travel insurance that covers scheduled airline failure (a lot do not include this!) and pay by credit card if over £100.00 just to be sure.
Cheers,
Jet
We dont mind constructive critism
Comments like "wait to see if they are still a going concern at the end of this year "
Are just stupid, also you need to remember when you scare monger
there are a lot of people who work for this company with children, mortages etc.
I agree its not been a good start to the summer, but the people who work on the front line are working there A**E off
I am sorry if you did not like my posting, I was only trying to pass on advice that people should be careful when booking tickets so far in advance. It is important that Scheduled Airline Failure is included in thetravel insurance for flight-only bookings such as with GSM. Their performance this year has been, as you put it, "not a good start" - a situation possibly caused by leasing out their two B767s and then finding themselves short of aircraft to operate new routes and short of contingency when things go wrong (such as the incident with the stairs and the leased B767 this weekend). The seemingly continuous series of delays across their network can not do much for customer satisfaction and repeat custom.
Anyway, good luck to the front-line staff, I know that the problems are not of their making.

Getting a bit panicky, travelling with Globespan from Liverpool to New York at the end of September.
Already it seems we are not gona get the 50in seat pitch in Business Class we were expecting and now it looks like the service they offer is going downhill fast.
Could anyone tell me anything about the New York flights.
Not a good flyer so major delays would really freak me out!!!!
Thanks any info about anything would be appreciated.
Helen
We didnt lease out 2 767s then find ourselves short, that was always the plan, we leased them out after it had been agreed with 2 different airlines to have there aircraft, 2 767s from Neos 2 757 from icelandair
Firstly the first icelandair was late coming to start the first hamilton
then the first 767 from Neos was late as well,
yes the delays dont do anyone any good, but now everything is back on track and hopefully remain that way,
Please dont think im having a go at you , we just get very defensive against our company as we work very hard, we also get a lot of positive feedback from customers

the business class from liverpool to new york was never advertised as 50" seat pitch, its 38", very comfortable for that length of flight
ive not done 1 yet but my friends that have said the flights are really nice, all passengers very happy, flights have all been on time getting there early, so i dont think you have anything to worry about
the business class is a really nice service, so stop worrying and start getting excited for sep,
specifically if delays are frequent, seats, etc.
i'm trying to decide whether i should book a rt ticket with globespan or cough up the extra $100 and get full service elsewhere.
thanks in advance
