Hello,
Hubby, our 4 year old and I are off to the CSR on the 20th November and i've read a few reviews where there is mention of problems at Sharm airport when returning home as you cannot sit together unless you pay cash when checking in. I don't know if this is First Choice's policy or yet another airport problem.
I'd rather not pay out the £60 for guaranteed seats both ways when there's a chance we'll sit together anyway.
Has anyone flown with First Choice with kids and sat together without pre-booking the option.

We didnt pay at all to sit together and there was 5 of us, we got seats no problem. I asked at the airport why they had introduced this policy, they told me that is is nothing to do with them at all, but the tour operators are charging. Its the same when you book a holiday, everyone has the option to sit together at a price.
I personally would never fall for this scam, thomson are getting notorious for getting extra money out of tourists, i am sure they are not alone.
Hi i have been twice and i know there was only the two of us but we did not have this problem and was not aware that anyone else did either but it was a couple of yrs ago when i went maybe someone else will be along and give you more info but i would not worry to much about it the only other thing i would say is that we always try and get at the front of the que.

It only started this summer i believe. When it was introduced with portland/thomson we asked a lady who sat next to us if she got charged. They booked with First choice and said they hadnt been told about seat allocation. Now it seems from the posters information that FC have also jumped on the band wagon
At the end of the day, the reps are doing a good job trying to make you feel you need to buy seats together, fearing you will be separated. It is just a service they offer, but by no means indicates you have to follow it through. I would never pay them money, unless i upgraded my seats. In our holiday price we pay for the seat in the package price, so that should be enough !

We pay for our seats together, family of two adults and two children, we go away during school holidays and have witnessed families being split up and complaining bitterly on different airlines including first choice. Although i dont think a child can be split from adults i have seen dad with one child and mum with the other. not good on a five+ hour flight.
I never pay for meals or seats together.I have moved to another seat a few times so families can sit together. It doesnt bother me sitting on my own as I go to sleep anyway I would think they will put you in a row together.I was told the seats are allocated by the airline a couple of days before departure.
