well i am going back to last year when we had all the problems with flyjet they might of pulled there act together by now, hope so never ever want to go thro that ever again.

Oh heck - have just booked with Flyjet to Majorca in August - hope we don't have any problems.

Add another 10 hour delay to the list.....
Return from Turkey on 15 September eventually on a small Turkish airline jet.

I had guests due in my apart on friday - They were due to leave Manchester with flyjet on Friday morning at 7am - it was 1730 before they left. Cotysmore - were you going to Manc - maybe it was same flight??

We are due to fly from Manchester to Sharm on Oct 21st, out of curiosity I checked return flight last night.....6 hours late. :roll:
Have got my fingers crossed for better things on our flights.

Always use xl but this time was put on a flyjet flight from
newcastle.
The amount of problems encounted on the return flight are extensive.
1) please turn up as usual ,flight ontime.
2) Turn up,no flight on board.
3) dont worry its not 2hours before yet.
4) Told to go through to departures even though flight still not showing up.
5) given 10 Euros voucher each even though plane still to leave on time?
6)Eventually told there was a 2 hour delay.
7)Sitting in departures flights shoes up as plane to land at
16.25(should have taken off at13.35) with a boarding time of 18.15 to fly at 19.25. note big difference in landing and departure.
8)Plane lands at 18.00 with gate changing three times.
9)Went to board at 19.00.
10) sat on plane for 1 hour while a small problem with the back door was sorted out.
11)Told to get off plane to allow it to be fixed.
12)a hostess told us the plane had been going back and forward for 6 mths non stop without service and they had a problem with the door 2 days ago.
13)30 mins later told the plane was not safe with afull load and therefore 50 passengers would have to stay behind with their luggage.
14)the first 50 to book in would stay. I dont think so!
15)There was obvious panic amongst certain passengers and over 80 people refused to get on.(in no set order)
16)This was firstly refused.Eventually this was allowed to avoid a riot.
17)a man then came and stated that 22 more would have to fly or the plane woulded go.Again I woulded have liked to be him at this moment.A hasty retreat was made after about 2 minutes.(very sensible decision!)
18)plane went about 10-00 without our luggage of course.
WRONG!. 18 cases did not belong to those left behind and visa versa.
19)promised a 5 star hotel,then to be picked up at 10.00am and flown back to newcastle by either Ba or monarch.
also be given dinner,breakfast and 2 phone calls.
(ps.its now 12-15am)
20)1 bus arrives .Rocket science has failed.
taxis's needed.
21)just before we leave arep gets on the bus and starting at the back of the bus,quickly hands out a letter to every one and then scarpers.the letter says,you will now be picked up at 7-00am by bus for a Ba flight at 9-35am.But the punch line was yet to come.The flight was to east midlands airport at nottingham.You will then be bused to newcastle.Wow!
22)expected to see a rep at the hotel to discuss quietly these new developments. Not a chance.
23)Anyway its now 1-15am and time for dinner. well a salad.
In to bed at 1-40am.
Just to digress aminute,it had to be me.As we went in to our room I flung the door against the wall to hear an almighty scream followed by a man in his boxers looking like a rabbit in headlights.By the time I got back to reception the man had been on the phone and reported us as theives even though we had 2 big suitcases.
Right back to it.
24) the man at reception told us that breakfast was at 8-00
and couldn,t do anything about it sorry. Also no phonecalls could be allowed.
25) my wife and I turned up at reception at 7-00 to find that breakfast was being served and had started at 6-30. we had timefor a glass of orange juice and that was it.So did many others.
26)Guess how many buses turned up.Yes ,one.Again taxes had to be ordered.ps no rep turned up.
27)Good flight with Ba although no free meal was provided.If our group had not been on the flight there would have been approx 30 people on the plane.
28)got to nottingham told to go to front desk.Got though tothem at about 1-45pm expecting the buses to be ready.
Afraid not.girls from airport said buses due 2-20pm.Still no flyjet rep here.Before a lynching was to take place the buses arrived at 3-30pm.
29)we arrived at newcastle at 7-00pm (should have arrived at 6-00pm the day before.)
Well thats it,we could go on about lots of other problems people had but it would take for ever.
I have sent a letter to flyjet re the air passengers charter etc to see what they are going to do about this and a letter to excel as it was them that I booked with.
I will let you know of any developments.

What an awful experience for you Mally, I hope you get a good amount of money back. Thankfully our return flight with them from Sharm on Oct 28th was fine (except for the t.v. not working) The flight was on time and the staff were great, especially the pilot who kept giving us an update of where we where and pointing out all sorts of interesting things as we flew over them. Food good too. Our only gripe was on landing at Manchester it took the baggage handlers 90 minutes to get our luggage onto the carousel. :roll:

The exact same thing happened to us at Manchester in June, We arrived from Monastir bang on time and then had to wait nearly 2hrs for our baggage!!!!!!!!!!!!! while flights that landed after us were collecting their luggage while we were still waiting :!:

We have just returned home form a gorgeous 2 weeks in tenerife with our 2 children.

We booked with mytravel but they told us we would be flying with flyjet who on our outbound flight were polite and quite afficient so no major complaints, however on our return flight they were very disorganised, slow,misserible and although i hate to say it a total joke. We were given food after asking (it was as though it had totally slipped their minds) and then we had to sit with all the rubbish for over 1h before the decided to collect it. They would only sell us drinks and we were told we would receive a hot drink and juice for the chidren with our meals (this did not happen) we had to ask for a glass of water as our son had some food stuck in his throat.

They did however provide the duty free service but by the time it got to us on row 6 they had sold out of most items so that also was a waste of time.

I have flown with several airlines before and non of them are perfect but may i add non of them have been quite as bad as flyjet where customer service is concerned.

I will be booking again with mytravel but i will make sure that the flight is with somebody else other than FLYJET.

The TO I work for used Flyjet for a couple of seasons, they were shockingly bad. Our hearts used to sink when we were given our airport transfers and we saw it was a FJE flight.

So glad we dropped them, they were truly appalling.

All airlines have these delays for example today at Manchester XL have a 24 hour delay on there Sanford where do you think their passengers are, thats right in a hotel for the night why has this not made the headlines when it has happened loads more times to XL than Flyjet also Monarch have a 11 hour delay to Palma, Thomas cook 6 hour delay to Tenerife.

Flyjet today left 20 minutes late to Dalaman but has arrived back 7 minutes early so that is good yeh. So how can they recieve so much rubbish from people when bigger airlines also do this to their customers.

I don't work for them but all airlines are all the same, If its gonna happen to you it will happen

I don't think its personel against Flyjet. Most airlines have received complaints on this site about the standard of service, punctuality etc.

The thing about this particular post is that it is in the 'Holiday Complaints' Forum and not the 'Airlines' Forum.

I'm sure you'll find the complaints / complements in equal measures in this forum unless an airline is particually bad.
