Independent Airline in their second year of trading. Onboard fine Boeing 757 standard chartered configuration just Like Monarch/Britannia/Thomas Cook/First Choice.

On time record has been a bit patchy due to small fleet size so nothing to cover if there are technical/weather problems.

Basically standard charter airline nothing to worry about or get too excited about.

Kind Regards

Has anyone ever flown with this airline?? If so what were they like?

I have just booked a late deal flying to Heraklion, with Cosmos on tuesday 23rd may, and was surprised when told it was this airline and not Monarch..

I have never heard of them, but have since found out that they only have 2 aircraft.

From what i can recall - Flyjet operate two BOEING 757's on adhoc charter routes. They are utilised quite a by the Ministry of Defence for trooping flights from the UK to Iraq etc. Dont expect luxury but should be just fine.

We were on Fly Jet to Tenerife in March & were impressed, just as good as any other airline. The staff were pleasent, Plus when we booked it was supposed to be a no meals flight so we packed our own sarnies but in fact meals were provided & they were quite decent!
So no worries, by the way 23rd May is on Monday so don't miss your flight!

I've never flown with them myself, but they have a fleet of 2 Boeing 757-23A's (G-FJEA and G-FJEB). This is what they look like in action:

So they sound ok then, we havent paid extra for in flight meals either, but I shall assume we wont get any, but be pleasantly surprised if presented with them;)

Hi all

We are going to Corfu in October with Olympic & I have been reading the thread about Alexandair with some concern. I decided to look on our booking invoice & see that our flight is prefixed FJE. On checking the Gatwick site I find that the airline is called Flyjet and has just two aircraft, both Boeing 757-200.
Has anyone travelled with this airline & could they give their opinions?

Any info would be welcome.

Derek

we were due to fly with Flyjet as mentioned in the post above, flight tickets were FJE flight number. We were bussed out for our departure to the aircraft to find we were boarding a 'strange' aircraft...a TravelService 737, which is a Hungarian airline. The crew were all HUngarian obviously , they spoke a little English, the Captain did speak good English though and was quite chatty. There was no in flight entertainment. The meal was Hungarian, and wasn't bad as airline meals go, drinks were free:) Legroom seemed better than the usual 737. I can only assume that Flyjet subcontract flights out if they dont have enough passengers to fill the 757, as there were empty seats even on the 737.

Our return flight was with Flyjet, they were ok, flight was an hour late, but we did have a laugh when they went round the aircraft collecting the rubbish...nothing hi spec here..just a cardboard box :lol

Speaking to someone that works at Gatwick though..they are notorious for delays..I guess thats coz they only have the 2 aircraft and if they get delayed somewhere or have a tech problem it will have serious knockon effects.

The 2 757's they have are old MyTravel and Air 2000 planes.
Hope I havent put you off..as I say the actual flight was fine..and I wouldnt cancel if I found I was flying with them again..just keep fingers crossed:)

Flyjet are a small indipendant charter airline which have a couple of ETOPS certified Boeing 757-200's in their fleet (G-FJEA and G-FJEB), but they are leasing a Boeing 767-200ER for the start of the winter season (G-FJEC). They mainly operate short haul charter flights around europe but are expanding to destinations further afield now they have their ETOPS certification and the leased aircraft. There's plenty of information about them on their website.

I flew with flyjet earlier this year from manchester to zante. Flights were on time both ways, cabin crew were friendly and also got in flight meals even though not paid for them. The leg room was the same as any other charter airline. And on the return flight they even came round with a sweet for landing!! not had that on a flight for a long time! I would fly with them again.

hope this helps
