Just looked at this morning's flight arrivals and:

FJE619 due in at 08:25 from KOS landed at 0758 so that was well early!

Anyone know? Is FlyJet still only operating two B757's?

They also have a 767 at Manchester, not sure if it is in service yet.

nivsy,

Fly Jet are currently opperating a fleet of two Boeing 757-200's (G-FJEA and G-FJEB), and a Boeing 767-200ER (G-FJEC). As dksbbs said, I'm not sure if the 767 is in service as yet. It landed in Manchester on the 3rd May with no livery but I've not heard anything since.

last I heard about the 767 was it was having some work done on it and awaiting the Certificate of airworthiness...Been there some time though, the parking charges must be hefty!!

All,

We flew with Flyjet back from Corfu last year and also incurred a delay of about 1.5 hours. However, with only two aircraft (B757) in service it would be nigh on impossible for them to operate to a good on time performance consistently. Every airline starts somewhere and I am sure over the next few years Flyjet will grow their fleet and consequently improve on time performance accordingly.

Servicewise they were fine and both flight deck and cabin crew very friendly on our flight. Aircraft are noticeably a little old but nothing a little interior retrofit wouldn't rectify.

In terms of the questions about the B767, a press release in "Skyport", the Heathrow weekly newspaper available to industry staff, this week says that this aircraft will be based at Stansted and they are preparing to launch operations from there imminently.

Hope this helps!

Awww pants!

Our flight that we'll be on in 7 weeks was delayed by over FIVE hours today!!!!! Due to leave Newcastle at 2.30pm and actually took off at 7.51pm!

Gonna start praying that it behaves for us - a delay of 5 hours will cause us no end of problems

We are flying with FLYJET 5 weeks tomorrow to Larnaca from Manchester. Flight was originally with EXCEL but was changed by tour op. Last week the flight was delayed for a number of hours and the return flight didn't land back in Manchester 'till Monday morning rather than Sunday evening.
Looking at it there seems to be only one FLYJET plane operating from Manchester and this delay seemed to be a knock-on effect from a major delay to an earlier flight from Sharm El-Sheik. Anyway as I am already not too happy about flying with this airline I am now becoming major paranoid and even checked on the Sharm flight that left today. Well from what I can see it left on time but is not expected to arrive back in Manchester untill 21.35 TOMORROW hence a 24 hour delay. Will def check to see how this affects the Larnaca flight again tomorrow. Just hope they get their act together over the next five weeks. :(

Avoid Flyjet at all cost!! They do not have enough planes to cover their commitments if anything goes wrong.
We have just returned from Sharm el Sheikh with them - flew out on XL from Manchester but had 30 hour delay on Flyjet coming back - put in a dire hotel - told plane would fly 24 hours later but still had another 6 hour delay in airport with no information!!!
After tempers became inflamed the passengers almost bullied the local agent to put us on a flight which was meant to take Newcastle passengers back - leaving THEM with the problem of going to hotels etc. They had already checked in and were in departure gate!! They were not happy!!
Apparently the flight from Manchester to Sharm on June 10th had the same problem leaving over 24 hours late. Just to get the point accross - this has apparently happened for the last 4 weeks!!!!
By the time we've all sued them and they have paid all hotel, food, transport, agents compensation etc - WILL THEY STILL BE IN BUSINESS????
Excel are doing themselves professional suicide in subcontracting flights out to this outfit!!!
Off now to begin the process of compensation claims - hope all 240 passengers on yesterday's flight are doing the same!!!
Reply
Believe it or not but Excel has signed a 3 year deal with Flyjet to Sub Contract for them!!! but in order to fill the contract Flyjet are hiring in a Finnair 757 to do the Newcastle flying. At least that should be reliable which is more than can be said for the 2 old heaps of their own.
Best of luck with the claims...

I posted recently about our 30 hour delayed flight to Manchester from Sharm el Sheikh - well - we pinched the Newcastle plane and apparently they were then stuck there for another 40 hours including 2 nights in a hotel - hope it wasn't as gungy as the one in which they put us!!
Don't forget folks that under EU Regulations of 2004 anyone on these flights is entitled to EU600 compensation by law!!!!

Well today's flight took bang on time so feeling happier now. :D

I had heard that there were problems in Birmingham last week which were having a knock-on effect all over whether that was the prob or not I don't know but as I say it's gone on time today so fingers crossed for 6 weeks time!

Got my flight tickets this morning and notice that our monarch flights have been changed to flyjet!! nothing I can do about it, am stuck with them, will just have to keep my fingers crossed

Well our flights have changed fro flyjet to XL - they didn't tell us just discovered when checking live departures on Newcastle Airport website and saw XLA616 instead of FJE616 going out at 2.30pm.

Rang and asked and was advised this is now an XL flight (my free inflight meals will have gone out of the window then). It was only 20 mins late going out today - I can cope with that - just hope it's nothing longer.

Hi

The Flyjet heap has been sent to Gatwick :( for the rest of the summer and you will be flying on a FinnAir 757 instead :D ..Still an XL flight as the Flyjet was operating for XL as a sub contract. Afraid flying is getting increasingly complicated these days!! But its a first class aircraft you are going on.British cabin Crew and Finnish Pilots...Just have a great time
