Was anyone on the ill fated flight FJE611 from
tenerife to newcastle.
The flight which was late and then couldn't take off with all passengers
onboard due to a faulty back door.
We then took off the next day to east midlands airport
with a bus then back to Newcastle.
If so any news on compo.
I've written to Fly jet,Exel and the passenger charter people,
so far without response.

For all the positive comments I read on flyjet (had quite a pleasant flight flight myself) there seems to be many more negative comments. Its a shame really they have excellent crews, nice service including free hot meal for all but their customer services departure, aircraft and punctuality record lets them down! All issues that could be resolved fairly easily - allowing them a decent reputation!
Flew with flyjet to tenerife for new year from Newcastle airport, i was a bit apprehensive about fliying with them after reading all the reports about them, more or less on time going out and about half hr delay coming back.
Free hot meal, a novelty among charter airlines these days, excellent selection of drinks/snacks to buy. Legroom poor, but same as most other charter carriers.
Cabin Crew top notch, enthusiastic and friendly. Regularly saw them chatting to passengers, which is nice to see. Very informative announcements.
Very pleasant service, film on to watch each way. Definitely fly with them
again.

I have flown flyjet past 3 years no probs just the same as any other airline. Thay get good and bad reviews can only speak for myself had no bother at all. CBG
thanx cbg, i`ve never heard of them.. flew with thomas cook last year and we felt all squashed so as long as they are not a shed in the sky..all will be fine
we are going to egypt as well but not until july so let me know how things go....hope you enjoy

We used them last year and the service was excellent, also had a 11hr delay on the return and they looked after us really well.

I have ended up on that same flight via the same route as yourself. I have recieved the tickets today, and on them it states tat we arrive in Dalaman at 23-55. The following Friday we are due to take off at 23-55. This can't be right can it?
Hi Snapper, I have emailed them with the same question asking how a plane can land and takeoff at the same time with no turn around time. I have also asked for the refund of my group sitting together charge as this is a free service with FlyJet via their web site direct.
I spent nearly a full day trying to get some sense out of both xl and Fly Jet. In the end i decided that the tickets would have the correct timings on them. How wrong was i.
Xl are refunding my group seating charge and they are checking on the flight times for me which they will email me about, I have arranged for free group seating with Flyjet customer services via email and I have also asked them to confirm the flight times for me.
Let me know if you get more info back.

After much deliberation by one very helpful but ill informed young lady at Flyjet, Flight times are supposed to be.
1800hrs Depart Manchester. 0015hrs arrive Dalamn
0115hrs Depart Dalaman. 0345 arrive Manchester.
I must say that she tried really hard to get the correct info for me.
Xl just told me to phone two days before each flight to confirm.!!!!
I have also asked and recieved a refund for the grouped seat.

There other plane was two minutes early in Manchester today, just hope we are not delayed 11 hours this year like last, (However they did look after us well).

just been watching the newcastle to sharm flight.due to leave newcastle 12.00..delayed til 13.00 then 14.00 and it`s been saying last call ever since we are on this flight in july..i hope it gets better
I'd never heard of this airline before however after seeing it on the news today about passengers sitting on a plane for five hours in Newcastle and then being sent to a hotel I just though i'd find out who they were.
Well I can only conclude from the comments greedy inefficient and badly run airline which I will definately avoid any holidays with.
Incidently I think its a bit of a giggle that GMTV reports that the flight was eventually cancelled due to the airline crew being out of hours but the local news reports that its due to the abusive passengers. I suspect that it was really the first though!
Lets hope they go out of business soon, holiday flying is stressful enough without muppet companies like this.
I suspect it is actually a combination of the two. Egypt is a long flight anyway, so the crew would not be able to operate a 12 hour duty plus a 5 hour delay. it wouldn't be legal.
As crew myself (not for Flyjet) it always amazes me the amount of abuse we get from so the so called general public. Granted, you can get it in any public facing role, but the comments, sometimes personal ones that the public make to us are downright rude and uncalled for.
Hoping the airline goes out of business id not a nice thing to say. We have families and mortgages to support, probably just like 99% of people on here.
we will be on this flight in 10 weeks time hope they get things sorted bt then
