Are Flyjet using their own planes from Manchester does anyone know?
We are flying to Larnaca 2 weeks today.
Mandy
G-FJEB is based at Manchester and has been servicing their flights as far as I know.
G-FJEC, FlyJet's Boeing 767-200ER has departed from Manchester on friday 7th July for maintenenace and storage at Lasham I beleive. Flyjet don't have the appropriate AOC for the aircraft type which is why they can't use the aircraft at the moment, even thought they have it.
Darren
Just checked the Manchester arrivals for tonight and the Larnaca flight is landing 15 minutes late. Can cope with that.

earlier reports suggest apalling time keeping but the last 4 weeks or so have been very good indeed.
I am keeping my fingers firmly crossed that they continue to make such good progress
Was dreading flying with flyjet after reading all the bad reports, but we had a lovely flight. Flew from newcastle to lanzarote, no delays coming or going, lovely meal, free pre-booked seats, no film on the way there but kids did use headphones in the radio, there was a kids channel, on return flight they played a movie.
Gill-mag - glad everything went okay for you. Our flyjet flights (Nc'le to Palma) have moved back to XL (well Finnair to be exact) so we won't get to try Flyjet out afterall.
how long before departure date did you know you were not flying with flyjet?
We fly in 3 weeks - found out last week but only becos' we checked the live flight departures and noticed our flight had changed from FJE616 to XLA616. When I rang them they told me they had changed flight (time is still same).
On the way out the aircon wouldnt go off and they were freezing, when leaving the plane they mentioned it to a stewardess, and said they ought to get it sorted before it goes back to gatwick, to which she replied, that it shouldnt have left gatwick as it was unsafe!!!!!
Does anyone know if this airline is still having delays?
We are flying from Gatwick tomorrow with them to Lanzarote and it is the first time we have gone DIY and are very worried we have done the wrong thing and going to be stuck at the airport for hours.
Thanks
Bluey
try not to drive yourself mad with worry. I have been keeping an eye on the dalaman flights on fridays from manchester. Over the last few months they have improved massively and many have arrived early.
There are as many good reviews as bad so have a look at the real time flight departures at gatwick as they will give you a good idea of their punctuality to date.
Have a good holiday.
Flyjet arrival from tenerife to Gatwick is early today!
We were booked on Astraeus return to Gatwick from Paphos on 04th October, which has now been changed by Teleticket to Flyjet flight FJE425
Seriously unhappy as the overwhelming opinion across the internet is that Flyjet are god awful.
I'm not a good flyer so if I get on a plane and even the simplest of things are broken (ie TV/ Air Con etc) I get extremely paranoid. Its bad enough if I can tell the plane is old from the interior - and it seems like these ones are OLD refitted heaps judging from what I have read.
Anyone been on this particular flight / plane with Flyjet yet and can you do anything to put my mind at ease?
My friends went on this flight last week 18th August - delayed over 7 hours at Manchester.
Happily return flight on time.
They had no complaints about the flight itself. Did not pay for meals (booked through XL) and DID receive them - along with everyone else.
flight out was a little delayed due to terrorist threat situation but homecoming was bang on time.
Glad we chose the right dates!
The crew on our XL (actually Finnair) flight were Flyjet and they were fantastic - special mention must go to Nick who was well funny. They were probably the nicest crew we've ever come across.
We flew out from Gatwick on Flyjet FJE422 on time at 06:00 31st August. We were due to return yesterday from Faro at 09:30 on Flyjet FJE423.
On arriving at the check-in desk at 07:00, we (and everyone else expecting to fly back on that flight) were informed that the flight would not be running and a flight was being arranged for around 21:30 by another aircraft/airline. The reason at that time was given as technical/operational.
The flight operator (not sure whether it was AVRO or Cosmos - both reps were there) offered to take all of us back to Vilamoura by coach to be accommodated in seven rooms of a hotel for the day with some meals provided, then to be brought back later in the day for the re-arranged flight.
Because we had pre-booked plans for yesterday evening, we declined the offer. There appeared to be no standby flights available to Gatwick, (surprise, surprise) so we decided to book a couple of tickets on Monarch ZB215 leaving at 13:30 at a cost 526.88 euros!
Just before we flew out, we were handed an apology letter with a Flyjet letterhead saying that Astreaus were unable to operate that flight at that time due to knock-on effects from a previous sector, whatever that means. It would be interesting to find out the real reason(s).
Just wondering what time the re-arranged flight left - anyone out there know?

That's a very bad (and expensive) experience for you. All I can say is that we flew back with EasyJet yesterday and the takeoff was delayed from 9.35 to about 10.10. When we checked in, our cases were the last to fit on the belt, and we were told that the system had broken down and no-one else could check their cases in till it was mended! We sat on the tarmac at Gatwick for ages while they "negotiated for a stand" so we could disembark, and then we waited ages for the luggage to come through. We wondered if EasyJet were losing some influence with the handling companies, but your experience was 100% worse than ours.
You probably won't want to hear this, but there were plenty of spaces on our flight - sorry! Mind you, EasyJet would probably have charged you just as much, if not more, than Monarch.
I hope someone will come up with some specific info about your flight's cancellation. I would certainly try to get my money back from Flyjet, Flight Options, AVRO or Cosmos (trouble is they'll probably each blame the others). If you look on the Holiday Complaints forum there is reference to a lawyer, Ros Fernihough, who would be able to advise free of charge.
Good luck!
Sorry, Whitemonk. Just realised you were talking about a flight on 7th September, not the 9th.
