Have not been able to locate eventual landing time of this particular flight. FlyJet do operate only 3 aircraft if memory serves me correctly and out of 3 bases - Newcastle, Manchester and Gatwick. It is therefore reasonable to assume that in order to mainatain all their committments the operator do sub-charter from other operators - however similar to your flight delay etc - I am aware that there has been significant operational delays with the carrier.

I've moved this matter on a bit because I want some money back from someone!
I have contacted the holiday company, Flight Options, (and they ARE ATOL bonded - http://www.holidayops.com/about.asp ) who emailed me a letter from Flyjet. The flight was delayed by 13hr 10 min! Since this was over 12 hours, I am able to claim a small sum from my holiday insurance company. The guy from the insurance company gave me some really useful information - a freephone phone number - 0800 67891011.
Checkout http://ec.europa.eu/transport/air/rules/rights/info_en.htm
I have now sent a claim in to Flyjet - watch this space.
Received an email response from Flyjet rejecting the claim - no reason given in the email. They said they will give us the reason by post "in due course".
Latest report is that one of the Flyjet B757's is allegedly very sick today - this is likely to lead to delays and further sub-charter operators being used - if they find them!
So situation normal then
Return leg knew prior to leaving for airport that there would be a delay from the Manchester web site, arrived at airport at 12:10 for 12:15 checkin, boards showed indefinate delay, check remained closed while airstaff kept us informed by coming down the queues informing us that they were working out what to do with us, finally started checking in an hour late, informed we would be taken to a hotel so remove any thing we would need from luggage that we would require (Swimming costumes, towels etc) prior to checkin.
Following checkin we were taken to the Pegasus hotel, all given an all inclusive wrist tag where we had access to all facilities, restaurants, bars etc at no cost. Had two excellent meals and a few beers and 3 hours in the pool.
Collected at 9pm and returned to the airport this was where the troubles started, all taken to gate 24 were a turkis airline 737/400 pulled up to te gate, obvoiusly not big enough for all of us, another one was planned for 2 hours later, people with tickets sequence numbers 1 - 150 were allowed to board the first plane (No announcement was made by the airport staff) so some confusion, I and my family were on the first plane. Flight home was OK, landing in Manchester at 2:12am (9hrs 17mins late), I don't know about the second flight.
Overall we were treated well and the whole thing was not worth getting stressed about, I presume that those on the second plane will be entitled to compensation under the EU regs as there were denied boarding on there original flght number and the second flight was showing a different number.
I feel sorry for those at Manchester waiting to start their holiday as they had lost a day.
Would I fly wit Flyjet again, Yes I probably would depending on the price.
Dave
How do they compare with Thomas Cook or Thomson. I can't find their seat pitch anywhere, and do they have in flight entertainment, what are the meals like?
Just weighing up the costs of a cheap flight which may not be comfortable, and paying more with comfy seats on another airline.
Have you travelled with them.
EDIT: Merged with existing 5 page thread which should provide some useful info
David HT Mod
You'll find lots of info about Fly Jet and their aircraft on their website. Fly Jet use Boeing 757-200's which have a seat pitch of 28" (233 seats onboard). In terms of the aircraft characteristics, they are identical to those used by most of the charter airlines such as Thomas Cook, Thomsonfly etc.
Darren
Thanks..... might try and pay for extra legroom seats then! I'm 5"9!
Have now contacted Air Transport Users Council re claim for compensation under regulation 261/2004.
Will update thread when I get a response.
I would like to say we have no complaints at all about Flyjet despite having a few worries after reading threads on here.
The outbound flight took off on time and the inbound was only delayed about 1 hour due to a technical problem.
When we were informed of this problem and the fact that as a result our take-off slot had been lost ,the Captain said we might have to wait up to 1.5 hours for another slot.
At this point a passenger stated very loudly:-
" I'll never fly with this bunch of morons again"
Would they rather the plane took off with a problem
The real morons on the flight were the ones that put a babies nappy down the loo
Inflight food was great for airline food, although some passengers were not too happy to have paid and then find that everyone on a Flyjet flight is given a meal.I don't blame them!
We e-mailed Flyjet before we went and requested seats together and they replied to say that it would be arranged ,all at no cost (unlike most other airlines)
We got seats together with a window seat as requested both ways
Staff were courteous and friendly and all trolley/meal/duty free trips were carried out efficiently.
I understand that we might have been lucky, certainly luckier than my Sister in Law who was delayed 19.5 hours coming back from Rhodes.
But its nice to hear good stories too,no airline is all bad
Boarded flight via bus from terminal - never done that at Manchester before - even with smaller airlines.
Flight left Manchester nearly 1.5 hours late - told this was because the previous nights crew had been incorrectly parked by Manchester ground staff and couldn't fuel up until they had a tow to the correct position on the apron ! ...for which they admitted they had low priority in aircraft pecking order
Flight itself comfortable enough - no in flight movie service either on the way or return - which was a bit of a bore for a 4 hour flight. Free meal -usual airline affair - no complaints. Very smooth landing into Dalaman.
Return leg - left slightly late due to missing passengers ! Flight no problems except no inflight movie.
Landed Manchester 30 mins late (assumed missed landing slot due to missing passengers as circled for ages !). Smooth transition to terminal by bus. Delay in getting baggage off flight 1 hour, due to aircraft hold door being stuck !!!!! GGGrrrrr..therefore cost my Dad a small fortune in carpark charges (he hasn't stopped ranting yet).
Would I fly with them again ? - probably ....if the price was right - apart from the baggage delay, the other problems appeared not to be of their making.
Flew Flyjet on 21st & 28th October Manchester to Sharm return. No problems at all. Small delay outbound and no in flight movie but very tasty breakfast for a very reasonable £4.50. Return flight took off 15 mins early and the Captain and crew were fantastic, loads of info about areas we were flying over and cabin staff gave the whole flight a relaxed atmosphere. Landed on time at Manchester - shame the baggage handlers took one and a half hours to get the luggage on the carousel
Checked in at Newcastle, which took an age. Boarded the aircraft, which did in all fairness look very dated. Legroom was usual charter pitch - very little. There were TV screens in the cabin, but no movie shown. Took off on time and landed early in Tenerife. What I think Flyjet do best is their inflight service. Having flown with the likes of Thomsonfly, Firstchoice and Mytravel, the Flyjet service was far superior. We were offered drinks and snacks from the bar, followed by a FREE hot meal service which was very tasty indeed. Tea/Coffee and Juice for kids was offered and the usual duty free selection. Crew offered final chance to purchase drinks before landing. I also must mention that the cabin crew were some of the most enthusiatic and friendly staff I have ever encountered on an airline. Nothing was too much trouble and they were happy to be there.
So Flyjet maybe a small company with only a couple of aircraft, but their service is second to none and I would be very happy to travel them again. Lets hope their new owners make them a reputation to be proud of.
Has anyone flown FlyJet? (think thats what they are called) Understand they are under TUI banner. Just maybe using them from Malaga up to Brussels for hastily arranged trip. Think I have seen a B737 in their colours around Malaga before but cant recall.
I wonder how you are getting on with your complaint with Flyjet.
We have taken them to Small Claims for a similar complaint and have a hearing date in January. Perhaps we ought to exchange notes????

You are thinking (I think) of a airline called JetAir. They fly AGP-BRU. They trade under the TUI banner and fly 737's!!
Think I have seen a B737 in their colours around Malaga before but cant recall
FlyJet don't use 737's so it wasn't them. As Andy_2006 says, was it Jetair that you saw?
Fly Jet only have two opperational aircraft at the moment, both 757-200's (G-FJEA and G-FJEB). Their 767 (G-FJEC) is back in Mancheater without titles for some reason. Maybe they're making progress on their paperwork?
Darren
Jetair - that will be them - Belgian TUI?. Mods moved my post to FlyJet but i knew it was not the UK company.
