Well no answers so I booked using DIVERS as a code and we got our family of 5 flights for £1043 in August!

Well happy! :D

Hi Guys!

For those of you who have flights booked out of NCL with Flyjet, this is a new base for Flyjet for this summer, I believe they are operating flights for excel! Good little company. Friendly crew, standard charter seating!

Enjoy your flights! :D

Hi, I also am flying from newastle to Lanzarote with flyjet. Did book with excel but just found out it has been chartered out to flyjet. Hope everything is all right as I havnt heard of them, but cant be as bad as spanair last year, 5 hour delay from Teeside. Roll on June 15th.

Fly Jet use Boeing 757-200's which are lovely aircraft. This is what they look like. They're an indipendant charter airline with only 3 aircraft in their fleet; 2x 757-200's and a recently acquired a Boeing 767-200 for longer routes. This is their website for more information about them. I've never flown with them myself but I've seen them at various airports on my travels and they seem quite punctual.

I've booked flyjet for September to Turkey, I emailed them regarding meals and sitting together as their web site says they always serve meals and you can request group seating, XL who I booked it through wanted to charge for both. Flyjet replied that all passengers are served a meal and I could request group seating free of charge by supplying passenger names and flight details, this I have done.

So the lesson is don't book meals or seating with XL if your flight is with Flyjet, save your money for beer.

Dave

edit - This is a saving of £132 for 5 Adults 2 Children

Thanks for that Dave - they confirmed we would gets meals on our flights and have done the group seating thing for us too.

Good info - a bit cheeky of XL to try and charge for something that's free tho'! :(

We are flying to Dalaman in August from Manchester. Its flight no FJE 804 i think on Friday at 07 am. Would be grateful for some feedback on whether anyone has experienced major delays on this route.

Not that we can do much about it as we have already booked. Incidentally Flyjet tickets were not cheap but they offered good times. :?:

incidentally the flight number above should read FJE864 outward and FJE865 inbound.

Be grateful to hear of any one else's experience from Manchester to Dalaman on this flight

I'm on the same flight on September the 1st so I am also interested in how often they are delayed.

If you goto the link http://www.manchesterairport.co.uk/app/ADSearch and look for the flightcode FJE you will see that days flights, today the flight from Arrecife is delayed by 8 hrs 50 mins so not a good start at the beginning of the season.

Dave

07 May, Flight 6 hours late from Shalm el Sheik
08 May, Flight 4.25 hours delay from Dalaman
12 May, Flight to Dalaman on Time, Due to arrive back in Manchester 5 minutes early
14 May, Flight from Larnaca 32 minutes late
15 May, Flight from Dalaman 14 minutes early

been checking on flyjet over the last few days from manchester as you suggested. Many, many morning flights appear to be cancelled. wonder what happens in this situation. Again, today flight FJE 860 cancelled.

it is not looking good. i have only put deposits on flights £140 and I am wondering whether to pay the balance due later this month.

Some flights show cancelled as I think they were in the Manchester system but may have been cancelled months ago, I am still sticking with it.

I have emailed customer service regarding the delays with Flyjet that I have noted over the last week. I had a very long email back from them saying the delays by and large where caused by the planes needing routing maintenance and the company doing the work delayed things. I am not sure whether to go along with this at all. They seemed keen to emphasise that the vast majority of their flights go out on time - although the statistics at Manchester just this last week would appear to disprove this! They told me that during the summer schedule they will have "a full fleet of planes in operation" and that this will improve the punctuality etc.

So its fingers crossed all ways round. I really cant bear to lose the deposit we have paid when all said and done.

Sienna, thanks for that, now I wonder if routine maintenance is classed as beyond our control for compensation puposes?

I alsowonder what they mean by a full fleet? I know they were expecting a B767 last October but don't know whether it arrived.

I will keep checking daily, the other option for me is I think it is possible to switch to the Monach flight at night with Excel at a cost of £20 per person, but I so want a day flight.

Flyjet have been using a leased Air Italy Boeing 757 to cover flights recently. The Boeing 767 (G-FJEC) was at Manchester on 3rd May 2006. I don't know if its in service as yet.

I saw that this morning too and nearly fell off my chair with shock! I have to make a decision soon as to whether to pay the balance of account and now its even more difficult!

Lets hope they keep up the standards into the summer.

Contacted flyjet by phone to request group seating, got an answer service, no facility to connect to anybody, left a message and thought that would be the last I heard, but they phoned back the next morning and were really pleasant and helpful, arranged group seating for free (how unusual is that) and was told that everybody who flys with them always get a free hot meal.
Was very pleasantly suprised.
Flying to lanzarote with them on the 15th june from newcastle, does anybody know if this flight normally runs on time.
