Yeah, too right, bring it on.
Thought we were the only ones with dodgy taste at the airport....and don't forget the toblerone on the plane.
Hubby usually buys 3 large ones at duty free to eat when he gets to resort - they don't last long.
depending on the time of flight and how long flight is we generally take our own food as I don't think plane food is great. This time we have a very very early flight from gatwick with an over night stay the night before so I cant really make a packed lunch so will take some chocolate croissants and fruit and cereal bars for my 5 yr old. Also maybe some bread sticks and nuts
As a rule we always book a meal on the plane and always enjoy it, but last aug we didnt so bought some brekkie at manchester airport it was nearly 10 quid so this aug we are having it on the plane its part of the holiday and i look forward to eating it...its always nice and for some reason we are always starving and feel full after it...
malaga airport is a rip off thats why I have also booked an inflight meal. burger king nearly a tenner...complete joke, however I am partial to there fresh tortillas on a baguette that you can buy at the spanish outlets in malaga..apart fron that..il be looking forward to my hot inflight meal on the way back..lunchtime flight...
Always take some snacks with us. Was delayed in Turkey for 16 hours a couple of years ago and we were really glad of the tuna rolls and crisps I had bought for the airport.Having said that, we do have the meal on the plane,to pass the time more than anything I think.
we dont pack owt up..we eat a brekkie at the airport..depends which airport and what is on offer as to what we have (we once had burger king for breakfast!) and I stock up on Pringles, Minstrels (or other chocolate) and boiled sweets. We usually have a meal on the plane..but you cant beat Pringles and Chocolate!! We tend to just buy a coffee each on the plane (or what they call coffee). When the kids used to holiday with us, we ended up with masses of haribo's and other goodies...(although Rob would still eat them now!) now it is just us, we dont spend nearly as much on junk!
What is it about Pringles for the plane? I always buy them for holiday but never eat them at any other time, well maybe Christmas. Same with sweets always buy a couple of bags "for landing"
OH and I tend to buy food for the plane in the airport like a Pret a Manger sandwich or the like.
An absolute must is to buy a couple of bottles of water once through security. So when you land in a hot country and are waiting for luggage or transport you can have a nice drink or when you arrive in the middle of the night in your resort you don't have to faff about finding drinking water at 2am!!!
I usually put a couple of bottles of water in the top of the hold luggage for when we arrive at our destination, always leave some drinks in the car in a cool bag for when we return home.
Just a bottle of water to combat the "flushes" on the plane . Otherwise always have the inflight meal - cheaper than buying sandwiches, pringles e.t.c. and breaks up the flight!
I eat the meal on the plane, but my mum doesn't, the plane makes her feel bloated. Having chocoloate and pringles is part of the holiday, ends the diet
Have found this link very usefull ... we have always had in-flight meals, however they are trying to charge £22 per person.. so a packed lunch it is! ...
We always take our own stuff now like greggs sarnies then nip to boots once airside and get the pop, the flight we have just came back on have stopped all in-flight meals so on our retrun journey we thought we would but a chicken wrap and chunky chips, well there were no wraps but we did get chunky chips but they weren't chunky lol they were skinnier than Mcdonalds ones and they were disgusting, so next time for me I will make sure we but something overseas for our flight home
I used to book an inflight meal but got fed up with the veggie option nearly always being a curry or spicy meal - yuck. I now make a sandwich and a scone, add a chocolate bar and tend to buy a coffee on the plane. Strangely enough, I'm not keen on coffee normally but tend to enjoy the one on the plane.

Thanks AskCy
buy a couple of bottles of water once through security, handy for the flight and the hotel till you find a shop go to a bar.. we take sweets and mints for the flights.
Strangely enough, I'm not keen on coffee normally but tend to enjoy the one on the plane.
Odd that Elaine, as at home I only drink coffee, perhaps have a cup of tea at teatime on a Sunday, but on the plane it's always tea, as I find the coffee far too strong
