hi,does anyone know of accomadation in assagao
Assagao is a very quiet and sleepy village about 15/20 minutes from callangute by taxi.
The two main hotels are the Willows who have a small pool and is expensive or the Astoria.
There are a couple of other small guest houses and a few family's in the village who let out rooms when ES used to have volunteers but unless you have your own transport you will be isolated and the place is dead after dark since the restaurant closed last year.
At the Vagator end of Assagao is the Tamarind hotel and nearer the school is Casa Amigos but they are still very isolated.
If you are only thinking of staying there because you want to visit the homes you would be better off staying in the resort and getting a taxi to the homes at visiting times 4.30 until 6

hi meagan thanks for info,we were thinking of staying in assagao because we sponsor a child there and are thinking of doing a few days voluntary work etc, maybe cheaper to stay in anguna
Saved me a job of looking for you then.. Anjuna ? plenty of places about, shouldn't have a problem with decent prices there - certainly not my choice of area to stay though.
cheers spike 1st timers so wherever we stay it,s going to be an experience i expect.
Hi Chilly and Mike - Been a bit busy with other stuff and not been on the forum for a couple of weeks. Hope your journey goes well and you have a great time - will read your blog with interest....and envy!
i think if its your first time in goa i would definately stay on in calangute,it realy is not that far by taxi or you can hire a scooter, anjuna can be also local buses all forms of transport are really cheap,
and roma do you see anything of bobbins, have you been down to abersoch this season
Have just been sent this link and it's made me chuckle...... especially the complaint about Goa!
My friend had a friend of hers staying in Goa last week and the friend commented that she was surprised that there were so many Indians here. It makes you wonder!!

The person complaining that all restaurants sold curries reminds us of our first trip to Goa in 1999.
My other half was standing outside the Golden Eye restaurant one evening when he struck up a conversation with a man from the U.K. The man hated Goa because there was too much sun, too much heat, he hated the sand, curry, fish and prawns. He was really miserable because he still had a week to go before returning home. What had the man been expecting?
