We used Sundance Helicopters in April and they were great, limo picks you up and drops you off at your hotel, trip was superb, would definitely use them again.

Going to Vegas in March need advice on the helicopter trips to the Grand Canyon
Am I best to book it here before I go or do I just leave it until I'm out there
Any help or advice would be a help as there is so many companies selling these trips

We've now tried to do a canyon trip with floor landing twice this year!

We were cancelled in Feb due to the weather so no complaints, we got an early phone call telling us this.

Just a week or so ago, we were due to go with Papillon. We got picked up and waited for about 45 mins after arrival before they told us their was a tech problem with the helicopter. We were on the sunset tour so we couldn't be moved on that day and we're leaving the next. In all we wasted about 2 hours, I wasn't impressed with how Papillon handled our problem, I'm still waiting for my refund too.

I did loads of research before going to Vegas & took the plunge for Grand Celebration with Papillon. OK is cost £350 for the both of us but it was absolutely worth every penny.
I thought they were extremely profesional. My partner was very nervous but she sat next to our pilot Lavelle, he was so friendly & put her at ease, he gave us a great commentary throughout the flight & was happy to answer questions.

A wonderful experience

Glad it went well for you gazza. All I can say is it's easy for a company to say how wonderful they are when it all goes well but for me they also need to be judged on how they handle problems when they occur (problems always will occur). Papillon failed miserably for us.

We did the Grand Canyon with Papillion on stand by for £30 each!!! The previous day we had done the Strip by Night with Heli USA on standby for 12 dollars each. We turned up at 7.00 pm and we had to wait until about 9.00 pm with no guarantee of getting on but we did get on - four of us together. Whilst we were waiting there was Champagne and coffee to help yourself.

We returned the next day to try and do the Grand Canyon on stand by but after waiting about half an hour were told there was nothing but we could try later to see if anyone failed to turn up. We walked up the road to Papillion and got on there. They were so nice and really tried to help us although I don't think the people who had paid full price were too pleased!!

They could only accommodate two of us so my daughter and I went as the other couple were returning to Vegas later in the year and would have another opportunity to go.

We took a risk - we could have wasted a couple of hours with nothing at the end of it - and it paid off.

Yes it's awful PP when it all goes wrong. I'm sorry you missed out. I hope you can sort out the refund soon.
We went mid morning on the 24/10 and had no problems.
They came out best after reading various review sites so that's why I used them.

we went with Virgin, coach trip almost to the edge, then helicopter goes over the edge landed on the side of the river, then a small trip in boat before getting back into the copter and ride to various points of interest before getting back to top and enjoyable lunch with the local indians, then return to waiting coach. A great experence.

We went with pappillion in july and did the grand cruise celebration, we should have gone on the boat down the colorado river but because we had flown through bad weather, we had to stop on the top of the canyon at the re-fueling place for 20 minuites whilst the weather cleared and it was touch and go if we were going to continue or cancel the trip. Luckily the storm passed as soon as it came, ok we didnt go on the boat but had half an hour or so at the bottom of the canyon and flying through was very emotional, took some great pictures which will stay with me forever.

I can't for the life of me remember the company we went to the Grand Canyon with but the helicopter was red & booked via Virgin. I was truly terrified but the pilot was so calm & reassuing. My husband & I sat up the front going out to the Canyon & I felt completely safe even when we flew over the Hoover Dam & he tipped us on our side for a better look.

What can I say. The Grand Canyon is a truly beautiful & spiritual place. I sneaked a small rock in my bag & brought it home with me. We too had a picnic. It is so peaceful & the views are amazing.

Must have been worth it. We are going again in a few weeks !!!

Forgive me if this has been mentioned in this forum already but I have just read about it in a magazine.

In summer 06 the skywalk is to open on the Grand Canyon where you can walk out into the canyon itself.

Details are HERE

Hi, i'd like a trip to the Grand Canyon, departing from Las Vegas, i'd like to fly to Grand Canyon and not go there by coach, i'd also like to go to the bottom and do the boat trip on the Colarado River, can anyone tell me the name of a trip like this and with which company i can book it.
Thanks
Sharon
