I can understand how stress could affect your back problem.
I think at the very least, YOUR rep should have spoken to the rep of the other tour company (was it a UK company?).
However, as your incident happened on the evening before the troublesome guest left the hotel, it would have been too late to issue a warning.
If I had been the rep, I'd have spoken to the guest and told them that their behaviour was unacceptable, that they'd been warned and it was lucky they were leaving as any further trouble would have resulted in chucking them out of the hotel.
I'd have gone on to say that if they exibited similar behaviour anywhere else whilst on holiday with my company, they WOULD be thrown out.
Maybe if that had happened, you'd have felt that more was done for you.....?
I wonder if the rep for the other company was aware of the violence shown to the hotel staff?
I'm assuming that the accusations of theft were unsubstantiated.
Maybe there should be a 'big-print' clause in T&Cs saying that unacceptable behaviour will result in a warning and failure to behave decently after the warning will result in ejection from the hotel with financial responsibility for accommodation elsewhere to be borne by the individual.
yes it was a british tour company.i only spoke to my rep after it had all happened as i was to ill to do anything except pop pills like no tomorrow.she infact got the dr out for me.she was very good.she said she wasnt aware of any problems untill i said.
the hotel manager etc and the accusation of theft happened on the first night.nothing was stolen and i can assure you noone from the hotel would steal anything.the guest apparently did receive a warning and there rep claimed there hads been no more complaints.i do not believe this as the guest had caused problems every day since arriving even accusing the staff of stealing again as she was leaving the hotel.
only the day before my experience with the guest they had accused me of being dodgy.
every day they were drunk or drunk and drugged up, abusing the staff etc
apparently according to her i have a conviction for grevious bodily harm
thats a new one on me but she liked to tell everyone in the hotel especially her rep
--and I thought we had troublesome guests on our recent holiday to Benidorm - AT least it was just noise but it was still enough to spoil our holiday. We still thought the hotel management ie. security didn't do enough to rectfiy the situation,
in my opinion especially the human rights act people who cause nuisance etc know it inside out and so the authoritys are scared to do anything in case they are accused of breaching there rights.
offenders have more rights than the offended. sod the victim
How do you deal with some of the British idiots you meet whilst on holiday, last year whilst staying at the MD there was a party of around 15 who's language and behaviour made me ashamed to come from the same planet never mind country. With so many of them what could one person do? only one thing complain to the hotel and to the rep.
Others on this thread have suggested that its not the reps job, well if you read the t&c of your agreement with the tour operator your will find it is, in case of problems your first port of call is with the rep, how they handle it is their problem, if its not sorted to your satisfaction you have a claim for compensation, not ideal if your holiday is spoilt I know but I personally would try to keep away from any trouble and ignore any baiting etc, if intolerable demand a move to another hotel, if enough people complain they would have to do something about it, sadly loutish behaviour is all to common and not enough complain
