Hi everyone,
I am hoping some of you can provide me with some info. My Boyf and I have just booked onto a gulet holiday in Turkey for the middle of sept 2006. We dont know anyone who has been on this kind of hol before and was wondering what to expect. We simply booked it as we wanted something different.
Being a typical girl, I will be taking a hairdryer and my straightners. I have been told by the hol company that the cabins do have a number of electrical points....are you limited to when you can use the electricity supply?? Also, there are ensuites, what are the showers like??
I would love to hear from anyone who has been on one of these gulet holidays. We are going with the travel holiday shop staying on the 'Blue Voyager'
Thank you.
Thanks for that...will do just that!!!!
Like you we did not know what to expect which is why we booked the second week in a hotel so we had something to look forward to if we did not enjoy the gulet
All I can say is we wished we had stayed the entire 14 days on the boat - it was that good
Our boat had 8 double berths so there were 8 different couples of varying ages who did not know each other before the start of the holiday
You have all your meals together on deck and by the end of the holiday everybody is great friends etc
On the boat there was a Captain, a chef and a cabin boy
Fresh food, drinks at your beck and call (very cheap when we went)
You always hug the coastline and stop at a different bay each day and night for lunch and evening meal
Most night stops the beaches are remote but at least once a week you will stop in a proper harbour giving you the chance to shop and try a restaurant if you fancy a change
A really great holiday - I am sure you will love it
We will do it again when our children are old enough
You have a very small ensuite shower and toilet and access to electrical point
One of the reasons my girlfriend enjoyed it so much however was that because most of the time you stayed on the boat on the evenings everybody was very casual - most nights she would just tie her hair back etc rather than glam herself up - you are bare foot on the boat to protect the wood etc so it is a very laid back regime in terms of dressing upif that makes sense - more like a camping type holiday than a hotel type holiday
