We got a dolmus (well maybe two actually! - I think we maybe changed dolmus in Bodrum).
We had a great day out there, they have a fab market (can't remember what day- but someone will let you know).
Loads of bars/cafes/restaurants.

we have recently returned from turgutreis and preferred it to gumbet, its a small town with nice beach area. the market is on a saturday

The easiest way to do it is to get the dolmus to Bodrum bus station and then get the dolmus to Turgutries. The market is geat - very hot though and be prepared to haggle. You can do a trip to the market from one of the travel agents but I wouldn't recommend it 'cos they end up by taking you to a gold centre which is expensive and boring!

True - but the Gold centre is on the main road between Bodrum and Gumbet, so you can just get off the coach with everyone else, and then flag down the Gumbet dolmus to take you back to the centre of Gumbet.

Often the market-day coach to Turgutries from Gumbet is thrown in free from your excursion agent if you book other trips with them (it only costs about a fiver anyway).
