UK Bill can you tell me more about the tiger trip
Hi irishcolleen, Actually this one I booked through Thomson Excursions website
http://www.thomsonexcursions.co.uk/
Full details are there - and I found it even better than the description.
Thomson call it "Taste of India"
It even included on-train snack meals as well - Indian food - but I like it!
The train is an "experience" - and if you really like India - and want to live it - then you will enjoy it.
It is not first class - but it is considerably better than "hanging off the side of the train" Indian 3rd class.
The tigers are amazing
- and so are the many deer introduced to the reservation as "tiger fast food" as described by the guide!
You also visit an Elephant sanctuary where they help "rogue" elephants recover.
All of the meals on trip are very Indian style - even in the 3 star hotel in Udupi.
But excellent.
Thank you so much Bill I have bookmarked the page it looks brill we will have a think about going there in 2012 ....colleen
We did the tiger trip a few years ago, same year we did Hampi, in the days when we thought we wouldn't be returning, didn't realise we would get bitten by the Goa bug, so we did trips virtually every other day for 2 weeks as we wanted to see as much as possible. The tiger trip was fantastic, we loved the elephants and have never forgotten the trip.
