I do not believe you will encounter any problems. Just make sure you carry a copy of your husband's Prescription with you, and enough medication to last for the duration of your trip with perhaps a little over.

If your husband injects himself, I am not sure what the procedure is in as far as carrying syringes ('sharps') in your hand luggage. You might need to declare this at Check In, or maybe there are some other Diabetic HT Members who can help you.

Also make sure you have adequate Insurance and that your Husband's Diabetes is mentioned. Failure to disclose a pre exisiting medical condition might render your Insurance null and void.

Apart form that, I cannot see you encountering any problems. And I wish you a happy holiday.

You normally have to declare at check-in and also require a letter from the doctor to say what the 'sharps' are used for.

If unsure, ask the travel agent to speak to the airline for you.

I am a diabetic. you need to get a letter from your diabetic team, nurse, doctor or hospital. usually the letter lasts for five years. :)

yes likewise..one good tip is always split the amount of insulin and bits and bats between the hold and cabin baggage, just in case. So far have not had any problems with security etc. Only once tried telling the cabin crew I was carrying needle pens (had the Dr`s letter) and they wernt interested so havent bothered since...Should`nt have any problems..hope you have a good time

I saw an episode of airline (yes I'm sad!) once where a diabetic was refused travel unless he took his needles out of his handluggage even though it was obvious what they were used for! Better safe than sorry and get a letter :)

I carry my son's epipen in my hand lugguage and have a doctor's letter. I have never declared it and nothing has ever been said when it has gone through the x ray.
