How exciting.....

Have you got the ring????

Champagne is very expensive, and is best bought from Duty free within 48 hours of arrival in resort, or taken in with you.

Romantic places can be hard to find.... one of my favourites is in Naama Bay... at the bottom of the horse shoe shape ... by Panorama caffe, turn left and walk about 10 mins to the Lido Hotel... it has a jetty and its illumated with fish and has a chill out modern deck with big leather seats etc....

other than that, there may be a quiet spot in your hotel...maybe moonlit table at the waters edge.... ask your restaurant/events manager at hotel.. they can arrange flowers cake etc...and they will love the secrecy....

Good luck....and congratulations!!! :love

Thanks for the suggestion,

I'm getting the ring next week. If i get it any earlier she will probably find it!!

Glad to know about the champagne. I was thinking something along the lines of the beach at the hotel as i know the grounds are meant to be nice with a few waterfalls as well.

May need to take some nightlights out with me!

Thanks again and anymore suggetions welcome.

Just make sure they understand the occasion. I arranged something similar to what Briar suggests and after our main course the waiters all came out with a cake singing 'Happy Birthday'. Anniversary had lost something in translation.

PS - not divers are you? There was recently an underwater proposal reported...

THere are two places I'd suggest after getting the hotel to maybe do soemthing special

I got Steph (my wife ) red roses last year the hotel got me a dozen for £5 (UK)

The places are

El Fanar not inside but the restaurant / bar outside as the sunsets

or the TapanYaki Japanese Restaurant they love to Ham it up and would help you out for a small tip

Thanks for all the suggestions,

I've managed to get in contact with the hotel via email and think i'm going to try and get a table set up on the beach when the sunsets and i also have a few other things in mind.

Thanks again for all your suggestions,

G

Just hope she says yes now!

Good luck, but how could your girlfriend turn such a thoughtful and romantic proposal down?

Just to confirm Perfume's comment about champagne being expensive - in our hotel it was £170 and I know a couple who mistakenly thought it was £17. At least they didn't order 2 bottles!

I tried to put some photo's on the page for you to see but they don't from Webshots so if you go here you can view the whole album

I was showing you the sunset beach at El Fanar and the Tapannyaki restaurant

Hi Gaffa I think that will be lovely, glad you liked my suggestion hey what about having it already writtin in the sand 'will you marry me' or is that a daft idea, pity they can't arrange fireworks or something when/if she says yes.

If he asks for them you can almost guarantee the hotel would bend over backwards to provide and the price will be good

Gray,

thanks for the photo's i saw them posted the other day but will have a look through the album as well.

Brian - not sure about the writing in the sand as if im planning to do it round sunset then she may not see it properly. Plus if i get one of the staff to do it they may spell it wrong!

re fireaorks: I know she does not like that much of a fuss and has already threatened to kill me if i do anything outrageous!

I'm leaning towards a table or rug layed out on the beach with candles and flowers set out. Must remember to take a bottle of champers with me though.

I've got an email address for the hotel from this site so am in contact with them already.

Thanks again for all the ideas and suggestions

Hi
Hi Gaffa I will be in Sharm at the begining of May too. As I work in a Wedding Dress shop do you want me to bring you a frock, veil and tiara over????
How about taking your lady to the Casino after the moonlit proposal?
Have a brilliant time and let us know how things go, when are you going?

Hi all,

Not long back from Sharm,

Just for all who's interested she said yes!

I contacted the Radisson where we were staying the week before and arranged a meal. At the radisson they have a large pool with a central island connected by two small bridges. I had arranged for a table to be set up in the middle of the island, where there was a bouquet of flowers waiting for her. We had a fantastic 4 course meal with our own personal waiter and popped the question at the end of the meal...
