Difficult isnt it? How about El Gouna, I understand there is a marina there to walk around of an evening and a few bars and restaurants, There was a thread on here about El Gouna, but its probably back a few pages now. I thought about going there April 06 but settled on Sharm in the end.

Will they let you book any First Choice hotel or has it got to be one in the Eclipse brochure?
Reply
no i can change to either first choice or eclipse and to anywhere lol, anywhere else you recommend

can change month too lol, we are booked for may 23rd at the mo for 2 weeks, just tried to get a quote for first choices new holiday village in sharm but not available in may and very expensive in july/aug

It's years since I've been there, but I remembered you posting once that you wouldn't mine going to Rhodes. FC must do some AI's there. A few people who were bumped from the Kos Aqua Beach Club went to the Kiotari Bay on Rhodes, so I imagine HT has a few posts on it.

If you go May time I still think the Red Sea is a good bet. Probably perfect time of year for weather. My friend stayed at the Coral Sea in April and liked it. It's geared up for families and is on a beach. The closer you get to Namma most of the hotels just have jettys which wont be much good for your daughter.

thats true, just cant stand the thought to be stuck in the hotel day and night for 2 weeks lol, coral sea has got fab reviews on all sites ive looked which is a first lol

ive looked at rhodes thats coming out dear , found one in kos not too bad but just outside the real busy area so might be too much

Or tunisia perhaps?

Regarding the Red Sea Resorts. Many people who post on here and go for the first time seem to come back and book Egypt again for their next holiday, which is a good sign. What about that LTI hotel that's next to the Coral Sea is that in your budget, that seems to get good reviews.

i was just thinking the same, havent showed oz (hubby) as i know he will love egypt with diving and no shops hes a typical man who hates shopping lol

lti saw that aswell reviews werent so good, will get a price now lol

LTI is 1821 so that going too dear ,im wondering if first choice have an egypt specialist brochure that might have more choice than this summer sun

Dont think so. Also wouldnt those hotels be on their web-site anyway.

I would be tempted by the Conrad if its coming out 300 pounds cheaper than the Coral Sea. 300 quid buys a lot of taxis, meals out and shopping in Namma Bay etc in Egypt.

I quite fancy the Conrad myself, it seems more established than the Coral Sea. Has it got really bad reviews or just a few iffy ones?

the other thing in the corals favour is that the evening entertainment looks better than any others i have seen. Ok it may be cheesy but arnt they all. If we have had more in our hotel I would probably have been quite happy not to go out but we consoled ourselves that every hotel in sharm was the same. I sort of found myself a bit miffed in the evening. but then I dont really drink so im not good at relaxing or appreciating the sunset. :( . but the coral looks like it has more going on.

ps. my hubby also hates shopping and with 3 boys in tow I have no hope. he didnt like Naama bay for that reason . It reminded him of Bluewater shopping centre and he couldnt wait to get back on the bus.

the coral has fantastic reviews the conrad has mainly good but there was a few bad, im going to have a good look at both for facilities etc and compare, ive looked at so many its too much today lol, going crossed eyed ,but i agree £300 is a lot of money difference, think conrad gave me a free child, the main bad reviews for the conrad our on trip advisor and 4 out of 5 are bad mainly complaining about tummy upsets grrr thats whats worrying me

If you are comparing good reviews to fantastic reviews its a difficult one to call, but I'd be tempted to save the 300. LOL .

Mind you someone just posted on the Coral Sea thread whose just come back and is rebooking already so it must be great.

have not seen a specialist Egypt brochure for first choice group.
We have been to the Conrad for the past 2 years and are going again next year. It really depends on what you look for on the holiday. the hotel itself is spotlessly clean and all the staff are exceptionally helpful. the food is ok, you will always find something to eat although like most places they have their moments.
The beach is one of the best in the area and if you are into snorkelling and diving, the house reef is very good and the dive centre on site is first c;ass.
There is a limited range of shops in the hotel and at the baron hotel next door. naama bay is only 20 mins. or so away by the shuttle bus.
you will find that you are able to chill and relax at the beach, go diving and if you like sample the nightlife in naama all at a leisurely pace.So much so you will return chilled and looking to go back again.
Oh well only 44 weeks to go.

think i need to write down all the good and bad and decide, ive asked someone about the sonesta too as that price is a bargain and i will end up with a refund lol and is over £500 cheaper than the coral getting better lol

thanks for that reply andy, although you say the food is ok ?? doesnt sound great, my daughter is very fussy, i have to say my main concern is the food and selection, not too bothered about drink and to be able to leave the hotel and have a wonder, my hubby is padi qualified so he will be happy anywhere

Come to the Conrad first two weeks of August next year!

There are a few negative reviews for the Conrad, we all have differing expectations.
All I can say is my family and I absolutely loved it!
My mum is going back there again on 21st of this month, then we're all going again on 31st July next year!

From what I understand, the beach is nicer at the Conrad and the sea is closer to the hotel.
It was a massive one minute walk from our room to the water's edge!

There are loads of pics in the CONRAD ALBUM, my pics start on page 5

There are pics of the Coral Sea Resort HERE.

The CSR is further from Naama Bay than the Conrad is.

Pippy :D

Be careful with the Sonesta. The Sonesta club is not on the beach and you will probably have to take a courtesy bus to the beach as it is across a busy road.
I believe the Sonesta beach is situated on the beach and is therefore a bit more expensive
