Hi,
Going to Hilton tomorrow morning
Has anyone got any last minute tips etc ie where to get best deal for trips
First time in Egypt and all very excited!!!!
Has anybody on HT been to the Hilton Sharm Dreams recently, who could give an update on how the buliding work next to the hotel is going? Is it finished or would I be likely to get a room overlooking a building site.?
Any recent opinions on the hotel would also be good? I've had a look on TA, most are positive apart from slow service at breakfast, which I don't have too much of a problem with.
Thanks to anyone who replies.
Have sent you a very long PM in reply to your PM.
I thought breakfast at Hilton was the best one I have had in Egypt. Hotel was fab and I would definately go back.
flying out to sharm on 29 march to hilton sharm dreams (B&B board). Not many positive reviews about the food here. We usually holiday AI in turkey and the food in 5* resorts has always been lovely (we do like our salads & fresh fruit) but reviews are mostly negative, even the breakfasts! Are there street stalls or markets selling fresh produce where we can stock up our 5-a-day? Any advice and/or recommendations welcome (would have expected better from the Hilton chain)
thanks lara1
Hi Lara1 You will absolutely love this hotel it is beautiful, but as to the answer to your question, I remember there being a fresh fruit salad at breakfast and apples/oranges/bananas, But in the town I dont recall seeing any stalls at all, there are supermarkets that sell fruit and veg. All in all though you will probably feel the need to de-tox!!! when you get home.Ha Ha! But all holidays are like that, except if your going to a health farm that is. Hope this helps. Lynne
Hi Lara1 - My wife and I stayed for 7 nights at this hotel last week - we throughly enjoyed the experience. The hotel is particulaly well kept- the grass, flowers, trees, and shrubbery are manicured on a regular basis - I am sure you will love it. We stayed on a room only basis - so I can't comment on the food. The main restaurant did look a bit hectic on the occasions we passed by. Concerning your question about food - there are plenty of cheap supermarkets around the area (look at the side streets off the beach prom) - I did not see a lot of fruit .. but I am sure you will not have to look far - a good tip .. check out the bakery store/cafe next to, and owned by the Jolie Ville ..wonderful pastries/crossiants/waffles . - half price pastries after 22:00 .. In summary this hotel is of a high standard - the staff are anxious to please - remember this is an Amercan hotel in Egypt so a tip here and there will get you great service .. just relax and enjoy - we did !!
