Take some mossie repellant with you and use it !
I'm a walking meal for insects, but I have never ever been bitten at Xmas time in Benidorm on my previous visits.
I wore 3/4 trousers and I got bitten during the last few days on my lower leg ...it is driving me around the bend itching and whatever it was that took a meal from me, it has made a right mess of my leg.
