Hello all, I would just like to welcome me back after our super holiday in Egypt, I can only thank Portland holidays for not letting us go to Cyprus as the weather in Egypt was hotter the sea warmer and other than the £30.00 extra it cost us each over the price of the Cyprus holiday it only cost $30.00 in tips, as I am sure it would have cost a lot more with the way the euro is at the present.
we did lots of this :sun2 and lots of this :cheers a bit more of this :sun2 and a lot more of this :cheers

Please note the Cyprus holiday was 4* H B and the Egypt holiday was 5* A I

Hi Dave

Welcome back we've missed you but glad you enjoyed your holiday. Portland certainly did you a good turn cancelling your Cyprus holiday. I'm looking forward to seeing your photos, maybe personally this time. The hotel looked really nice.

Hi. Glad you had a great time Dave. I am off to Barcelona next week with 'te girls' and have just booked a cruise for 7th to 18th april as it is my birthday on 11th and although I cannot bring myself to say the 'f' word, I won't be in my 40's any more :cry
We are still waiting to find out when the MTV concert is in Malta late June so we can book for that. Hopefully we are off to Mallorca again in Sept/ Oct with the grandkids. Thats it for this year I think

OMG Sliema 2 it will soon be as bad as England. As Malta is such a small country I'm sure there's no room for all these imigrants. My family are on holiday in Malta at the moment, just wondering if they saw any activity there.

Malta is in very serious danger Jean of being overun by this problem, last year I think it cost the Maltese / Gozitan tax payer something in the region of 1.25 million Euros and probably even more (Ghawdex Mark can you confirm / deny this figure ?), this in one of the most densley packed countries in the world where so many local people have to do two or more jobs in order to survive, and all these people are expecting everything, and I mean everything, for free.

I can confirm that Gozitans don't pay tax :cheers

on a serious note, yes its a big problem - not so much cost as alot of that is EU funded, but in terms of the racism its creating - if I was black and in my 20s, there is no way I would come on holiday to Malta now - many would presume I was an illegal immigrant. The racism in the online comments in The Times is shocking - normally begun with a version of "I'm not a racist, but...". Can any of us truly say that in the same situation we wouldn't try to come to Europe ? If these people were white, would there really be such a fuss ?

Yes a solution has to be found, but not at the cost of respect for another human being.Too many Maltese who call themselves Christian look down on these people as sub-human, even well educated Maltese. Perhaps only atheists can truly look past religion and colour and see that underneath we are all the same, just some lucky to be born with more.

They are definately training for a future in Britain, last week four of them stepped out in front of me on the Hal Far road,s zebra crossing causing me to brake hard, hate to think what would have happened if it had been a Maltese driver.

If it had been a Maltese driver they wouldn't be here today to tell the tale knowing how the Maltese drive.

Vee Dee.

Wow! they were very lucky, when did you fix the brakes.....

just before the MOT like all good drivers in Malta

of course here in Gozo, we use potholes to slow down

 V.R.T. is a joke, i took it in with a gaping hole in the exhaust and enough fumes entering the cabin to send me to sleep, a pre-op, repair and test was the order, it came back with a 2 year pass and the hole still in tact. the reason it passed emissions was there was zero fumes exiting the tail pipe to test.
