At least mine wasn't that amount but its still enough. I'm with Abbey as well and so far they have been very supportive....just hoping it goes back into my account soon.
It's quite frightening really, as since this has happened to me it seems all to common. I have been told by the police f r a u d team that it's now at about 1:3 people.
my card (they originally started trying to tell me they could only deal with the person who had made the transactions!). My investigations revealed the that someone I had worked with had stolen my card details. This, I reported to the f r a u d department who told me to report to the Police - who told me it was up to the bank's f r a u d department to deal with! I ended up posting all my findings to the credit card company who then refunded the money, plus the late payment charges and over-limit charges that all this had incurred....in the end. I was very unimpressed with the company's efforts to act upon information they already had, and felt very miffed I had to do all that myself. If I hadn't, I'd probably be still waiting now.
Good luck with sorting out what has happened to you.
My symapthies sunaholic Happened to me (£2 500), and wiped out my credit card. It took me about 4 weeks to sort it out. I had to wait for my statement to find out how my money had beeen spent (my credit card company wouldn't tell me over the phone). The bank's f r a u d department seemed to be doing nothing. In the end I spent a lot of money phoning the companies the card had been used with (all online transactions). I demanded that they gave me details of the transactions as they had been made with Good luck with sorting out what has happened to you.
Not only did they clone my card BUT they also set up an account to look at my credit history. On top of this a certain major computer company is not being forthcoming as they are having lots of problems with f r a u d on line. Thank god for all the very helpful and understanding people in f r a u d depts that I've spoken to in relation to all of this.
