Another thing is that the snorkelling is fantastic just off the beach at the hotel, my husband loves snorkelling and he said it's the best he's ever seen. Literally you walk down the jetty, hop off the end and there's fish there to see.You can even see them off the jetty as you walk down. Take a wander a little further out (towards a random chair in the sea

) and you can see loads. Make sure you have water shoes on as the coral is unstable and rocky in parts and when you step on it it can move (I got a nasty cut and I wasn't the only one

). It's all very shallow and accessible. Sometimes the fish can be a bit scary for kids as there are so many of them so bear that in mind! You can get a fish index card in one of the shops which shows you the types of fish you can see and we saw them all apart from the nemesis Nemo (clown fish) which can be trickier to find!
The hotel next door (Tropicana Grand Azure) has a much longer jetty which a few people from the HV were using although you weren't supposed to. One Irish guy went down to the very end, got stopped by the security guard who told him the jetty was for the use of the hotel customers only to which he replied "Ah yes, but the sea is for everyone" that did the trick and in he went!!
